Fluid PowerTrainingFluid power training based on current industry practices
In the past decade, the fluid power industry has experienced a
high level of change with the fast progression of technology and
modern applications.
This has resulted in difficulties for traditional fluid power training
organisations in staying current regarding industry practices,
component knowledge and qualified resources.
This lag, combined with the growing problem of many
experienced hydraulic experts retiring, or approaching
retirement age, has resulted in a knowledge gap in the fluid
power industry. A gap that Custom Fluid Power Training can
now successfully fill.
Custom Fluidpower, one of the largest hydraulics, pneumatics
and electronics solution providers in Australia, has put our
hundreds of hours of accumulated knowledge towards
developing training packages that meet current industry
best practice. Our training packages are aligned to national
standards, are MDG41 compliant and will be delivered through
our Registered Training Organisation Division – Custom Fluid
Power Training.
With the RTO administration based in Brisbane QLD, Hydraulic
Simulators located in Newcastle NSW, and trainers located
Australia wide, Custom Fluid Power Training can provide
training on a national basis.
CUSTOMFLUID POWER TRAINING
BLENDED
Custom Fluid Power Training is able to develop
courses offering blended delivery methods such
as online and face to face to meet your specific
requirements.
DISTANCE LEARNING
Currently, distance learning is only available
from Custom Fluid Power Training for the RPL of
Certificate IV in Engineering – (Fluid Power) course.
However, practical assessment for this course still
has to be undertaken on a face to face basis.
E-LEARNING
Custom Fluid Power Training’s online portal enables
self-paced online training and will expand over time
to include fluid power courses on a wide range of
topics. E-learning is available at a company wide
and individual level.
FACE TO FACE
Custom Fluid Power Training’s face to face
courses are practical and are designed around the
workplace, relating to jobs that are performed on a
daily basis, with assessment of competency based
on performance of actual tasks and underpinned by
knowledge ensuring the task is completed to meet
the relevant standards. We can train your people
on-site and supply all training materials - you simply
provide a workshop and training room; or, you can
attend a training session hosted by us and make use
of our hydraulic simulators for hands on training.
RECOGNISED PRIOR LEARNING
Custom Fluid Power Training conducts a process
that recognises the skills and knowledge that has
been acquired through the course of life, vocational
transitions, formal or informal training and education,
and awards course accreditation based on this.
TRAINING METHODS
Custom Fluid Power Training provides a practical training experience through the use of our hydraulic
simulator units.
These rigs use current fluid power technology, including cartridge valve technology, ensuring that trainees
receive practical experience on current industry equipment.
This hands on approach to learning ensures trainees will learn faster, troubleshoot fluid power problems
quicker, and increase their confidence working on real systems.
HANDS ON TRAINING WITH HYDRAULIC SIMULATOR UNITS
Custom Fluid Power Training can customise
a training plan to meet specific needs
throughout Australia (and PNG), whether
product, application, industry or company
specific.
We can work with you to design a training
package relating to a specific piece of
equipment (operation and/or maintenance),
procedure, or identified knowledge gap, and
conduct the training on-site.
Simply contact us to discuss your
requirements.
CUSTOM TRAINING
If you are looking to increase safety during maintenance and operation of hydraulic or pneumatic equipment
by educating your employees about fluid power then training is essential. Introduction to Fluid Power Course
is suitable for fitters or engineers that have no or limited fluid power experience.
Throughout this course, participants will gain a greater understanding of the basic theories and operations of
fluid power systems used in industry today and safety issues relating to them.
The duration of the face to face course is two days and is best for groups of eight to ten people. If the
training is conducted at the customer’s site, course materials are supplied while the customer provides
a workshop and training room. If the trainee attends a Custom Fluid Power Training’s location, course
materials are supplied and hydraulic simulator units are used.

Featured Course
Hydraulics 1.0 (Face to Face)
The course builds on the foundational knowledge
from the Introduction to Fluid Power course. This
unit is designed to support the learners’ needs
in understanding the principles of how hydraulic
components operate, as well as being introduced to
their representative schematic symbols and how to
identify them.
There will be practical exercises to complete to
reinforce the underpinning knowledge. With the
incorporation of hydraulic simulator units in the
course, trainees gain valuable current product and
system information and practical experience.
Course content includes:
• Shut down isolate
• Fluid power principles
