7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for
the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything
as loss because of the surpassing worth of
knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I
have suffered the loss of all things and count
them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in him, not having a
righteousness of my own that comes from the
law, but that which comes through faith in
Christ, the righteousness from God that
depends on faith— 10 that I may know him and
the power of his resurrection, and may share
his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
11 that by any means possible I may attain the
resurrection from the dead.
Phil 3:7-11
7 “Will any one of you who has a servant
plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he
has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and
recline at table’? 8 Will he not rather say to
him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress
properly, and serve me while I eat and drink,
and afterward you will eat and drink’? 9 Does
he thank the servant because he did what was
commanded? 10 So you also, when you have
done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We
are unworthy servants; we have only done
what was our duty.’ ” LUKE 17:7-10LUKE 17:7-10
17 “But when he came to himself,
he said, ‘How many of my father’s
hired servants have more than
enough bread, but I perish here with
hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my
father, and I will say to him, “Father,
I have sinned against heaven and
before you. 19 I am no longer
worthy to be called your son. Treat
me as one of your hired servants.” ’
