NEW PRODUCTS AND POLICY UPDATES
NEW DIGITAL ARCHIVE OFFERING: AVAILABLE JANUARY 2021In 2021, OSA is adding a new archive product—the OSA Digital Archive 3. It offers perpetual access to the PDFs of more than 54,000 journal articles and conference proceed-ings from 2016 to 2020 and supplements the OSA Digital Archive 1 and 2 products. See page 17–18 for details.
EXPANDED ACCESS OPTIONS AVAILABLE OSA has significantly expanded the number of options available for your patrons to access your subscribed content. For example, OSA has implemented federated access, often referred to as “Shibboleth” or “OpenAthens” in partnership with eduGAIN. As federated access delivers content directly from OSA’s platform to your logged-in patron working off-campus, your patrons will not need be dependent on bandwidth provided by your university’s VPN to access your subscribed content. If you would like to provide federated access to your subscribed content, please contact us at [email protected], and we will work with you to establish it for your institution.
EXTENDED BACKFILE PROGRAM CONTINUES—YEARS OF COMPLIMENTARY ACCESS CHANGINGAs a reminder, OSA’s single-title subscription pricing includes access to newly published articles in 2021 plus complimentary access to a portion of the backfile. Next year, complimentary access for all single title subscriptions will include content from 2011 to 2020 (instead of back to 2010 as with all 2020 subscriptions). For those interested in providing access to content prior to 2011, there are a few different options. Subscribers can either upgrade to one of our package products and receive complimentary access to the entire backfile for all titles in that package, lease the applicable backfile, or acquire one of OSA’s Digital Archive products.

Package subscribers receive complimentary access to the entire backfile for each title included in the package.
Delivery of Print JournalsPrint journal subscriptions being mailed to the U.S. and its territories will receive their subscription via USPS. Print journal subscribers in all other countries will receive their subscription(s) via consolidated air freight and delivery by local post. Due to the ongoing pandemic, OSA may need to change or cease shipping from time to time. Subscribers will be notified of changing shipping polices as and when they happen and when they can expect to receive print issues being held.
ClaimsDue to the ongoing pandemic, delivery of print issues has been delayed from time to time. As a result of these delivery delays, OSA temporarily extended our claims policy as of March 2020 such that missing issue claims will be honored if they are received within four and a half months of the publication date for a specific issue of an individual journal. Please allow 10-12 weeks for print copies to arrive at your library before submitting a claim to OSA at [email protected]. Please first check our Librar-ian Resources Website for updates on this policy.
Cancellations/RefundsRequests for refunds will be reviewed on an individual basis and, if approved, will be prorated based on the number of unful-filled issues in the calendar year. Cancellation requests must be received within 90 days of receipt of the order (whether direct or via subscription agent). Refunds are subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee per title cancelled.
