Summer 2014 Focus: Real Life Discovery ~ The Lollapalooza Way

Each day students will rotate through Math and Science sessions which

incorporate technology and design.

Sciencepalooza: Students will learn to wing, launch, fly, slime, bug and

bungee their way through experiments like the scientists and engineers

of today. By the end of the week your student will have had hands-on

experiences that follow the Common Core and National Science Prac-

tices.

Mathpalooza: Math will be embedded into a palooza-style exploration

of real life adventures. Your student will learn data analysis, probability,

statistics and proportional reasoning in an inventive and fascinating

way! Math exploration using Common Core Math Practices will be in-

cluded in problem solving investigations and real world application.

Technopalooza: Students will create a mock website using apps, iPads,

tablets, and computers to demonstrate their new found knowledge of

each day’s real life experiences.

Two Sessions: 8:30-11:30 & 12:30-3:30 Grades 5-8
