Play Day and Family Picnic
Fun in the sun! With our grade 5 students leading the way as team captains, multi-aged teams from Kindergarten to grade 4 participated in a host of activities including parachute, pavement art, obstacle courses, sponge relay and more! A great time was had by all. Thank you to the grade 4 and 5 students for helping to organize the activities. Thank you to the teachers for their creativity in designing this year’s events.

The events of the morning were topped off by our annual picnic lunch. Students enjoyed eating their lunch with family and friends. The ice cream for dessert was the perfect ending to a perfect day!
Welcome and Goodbye
Some changes for next year
With the end of the school year upon us, this always brings a time where we need to say some good-bye’s and welcome new staff.
We say “good-bye” to Ms. Johnson who will be taking a 4 over 5 next year. We wish her an enjoyable year
and look forward to welcoming her back in 2014-2015. We would also like to welcome to Cameron Ms. Diane Kallinis and Mr. Daniel Correia. Foods from around the
world! By the students in Gr. 4
There was a lot of different types of food, like tacos (Mexico), dumplings (South Korea), and Greek salad (Greece). The country that I researched was Italy. I brought in tiramisu, which is a very common dessert in Italy. The foods that I liked best were the tacos and the lemon cream pie. - Isabella V. I liked the idea of us all bringing food in to the class to share different cultures with each other because it is nice to try foods you have not tried before. – Kaila D.T. I tried so many dishes from around the world. After Chris gave out chocolate! That was one of the best meals I ever had. – Melanie Y. It was like I was in a different part of the world each few minutes! I was going on a vacation so many times! We all ate are food together and listened to music! The music was really fun to listen to! – Eleanor C. What I liked about this project was we could learn more about other countries and that we could try new food. – Peter C. It was very neat for everyone to try different food from all around the world. Another reason I liked it was because our teacher Ms. Chung played music from the country that the food we were eating from. – Ben M.
Poetry Café
We have many budding poets in Ms. Messersi’s grade 3 class. Students enjoyed writing a variety of poems from rhyming couplets to Haiku. The students worked very hard on writing their poems and then had an opportunity to present them to their families. The poems were thoughtful and some quite humorous. Who knows, you may see some on the bookshelves sometime in the near future!
