SCHOOL EVENTS
PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS
Ms. Preeti Sangwan joined Cambridge School, Noida as Principal on 1st April 2020. She
addressed the staff through an online video conference and expressed her thoughts on joining the
school, setting a tone and developing a vision for student achievements. She stressed upon
building a culture that supports continuous professional excellence. Subsequently she also
interacted with the staff members department wise and discussed relevant issues. The teachers
introduced themselves and accorded her a warm welcome.
ONLINE TEACHING
Online classes commenced on 23rd March 2020 for classes X and XII and from 1stApril 2020 for
classes VI to IX. Initially the classes were conducted through Zoom. Through a concerted effort by
the school IT Team, a smooth transition to Microsoft Teams, a better and safer platform took place
on 22nd April 2020. Teachers have been successfully conducting live teaching sessions for the
students with minimal disruption, giving assignments and conducting tests.
BIDDING FAREWELL TO Ms. JYOTI AGARWAL
A e-farewell party was organized through Microsoft teams for Ms. Jyoti Agarwal on her retirement
on 2nd May 2020 at 5 p.m. It was a memorable moment for Ms. Agarwal as the entire teaching
fraternity of the senior school and the administrative staff along with her family members which
included her husband and both her daughters in law were present online for the occasion. The
programme commenced with Ms. Vasundhara giving an insight about Ms. Jyoti Agarwal's tenure
in the school. A PPT prepared by Ms. Sushmita and Mr. Rohit Sharma showcasing her journey in
the school was aired. It was nostalgia all the way as Ms. Lalitha, Ms. Latika Joshi and Mr. Gunjan
Jha sang a beautiful song to mark the occasion. Ms. Nandita Sinha Roy, Vice Principal shared her
experiences regarding Ms. Agarwal. The Principal Ms. Preeti Sangwan wished Ms. Aggarwal well
for her life after retirement and expressed her sincere gratitude for her dedication and
commitment. The event ended with Ms. Jyoti Aggarwal thanking each staff member for always
being there to help and support her.

MUSIC CONCERT - RABINDRA JAYANTI
An online music concert was held on 8th May 2020, through Google Meet to commemorate the 159th birth anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore. It was organised under the able guidance of Ms. Jaya Pathak. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary, SAE, Ms. Preeti Sangwan, Principal, Cambridge School, Noida and
Ms. Nandita Sinha Roy, Vice Principal, Cambridge School, Noida viewed the programme online.
The main highlights of the occasion included Tagore songs and poems by the teachers and
Pakhawaj and Sarangi performances. Video clips of students gracefully dancing, reciting poems
and singing songs of Rabindra Nath Tagore in German and Sanskrit were aired online. This was
followed by a Power Point presentation on Tagore which included some paintings made by our
students.

HINDI SEMINAR- ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE KA VYKTITVA AUR KRITITIVA
Hindi Seminar on Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ka Vyktitva aur Krititiva was organized by the teachers of
the Hindi Department of Cambridge School, Noida on 15th May 2020 through Google Meet. The
seminar began with a talk on Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ka Vyktitva aur Krititiva by Mr. S.P.
Sharma. Next Ms. Richa Sharma recited a poem composed by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A short
skit – Aap ki Adalat was also presented, in which Mr. S.P. Sharma played the role of the famous
anchor, Mr. Rajat Sharma. Mr. Varun Jha’s captivating performance as Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee,
mesmerised the viewers. Ms. Neelam Sharma, Ms. Richa Sharma, Ms. Seema Dimri and Ms.
Sarika Sharma enacted the role of media reporters. A video featuring the narration of some
popular speeches and poems of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee by the students of the school bears
testimony to the values being imbibed by them from exposure to the quality work of great
personalities. The effort of the teachers and the students was appreciated by Dr Kalyani Roy
Secretary, SAE and Ms. Preeti Sangwan, Principal, Cambridge School, Noida.

MUSIC CONCERT
An online music concert was held on 20th May 2020, through Google Meet. Dr. Kalyani Roy,
Secretary, SAE, Ms. Preeti Sangwan, Principal, Cambridge School, Noida and Ms. Nandita Sinha
Roy, Vice Principal, Cambridge School, Noida viewed the event online. The main highlights of the
occasion included Tagore songs, Pakhawaj and Sarangi performances, poem recitation by
teachers as well as solo dance and song performances and poem recitation by the students of
classes VI to XI.
INTERACT CLUB
In the present scenario when the world is battling with the onslaught of COVID 19, helping the
needy is the need of the hour. Interact Club of Cambridge School, Noida came forward and
donated sanitary napkins to the school cleaning staff on 19th May 2020. Principal, Ms. Preeti
Sangwan along with the Teacher In charge Ms. Mamta Rishi distributed about 180 sanitary
napkins in the school premises. The event was carried out conforming to the norms of social
distancing and wearing of masks.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAMME
The Covid-19 pandemic has redefined the school education system and propelled us to
seamlessly integrate school learning with e-learning modes so that we can continue to provide
young minds with the requisite skills to succeed.

➢ Students’ Online Dialogue Forum
In this spirit, our school students shared their thoughts and emotionally connected with their global
peers around the world, through the online student dialogue forum.
Maithily Nautiyal of Class IX E participated in a Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Quiz contest –
the first of its kind, unique online quiz contest for students to excel and ameliorate their global
skills.
As part of the school’s International Programme, Anukansha Sharma of Class XII-2019-20,
actively participated in various videoconferences with students across the world. The experiences
gained during these videoconferences, in the past five years, motivated her to appear for a written
assessment and interview, as she wishes to join the Gen Global platform as a ‘Volunteer Alumni
Moderator’.
➢ Teachers’ Virtual Dialogue Circle
• Ms Anubha Rawat participated in a virtual ‘India Dialogue Circle’ with 35 teachers across
India, on 8th April 2020, via videoconferencing. The videoconference provided an ideal
platform to share experiences, discuss the effects of the pandemic on the school education
system and the challenges of virtual classrooms during these extraordinary times.
• On 6th May 2020, Ms Anubha Rawat participated in a ‘Global Dialogue Circle’, with teachers
across the globe via videoconferencing. Around 45 teachers from various countries such as
England, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia etc participated in the
videoconference. The experience was enriching, not only in terms of exposure to the effects
and challenges of e-classes, but also, in learning about the varying perspectives of peers
from different parts of the world.

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS FOR STUDENTS
CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOP
An online career counselling workshop by Career Launcher was conducted for the students of
Class XI by Mr. Avinashi Sareen who is an MBA from Imperial College, London on 12th May 2020.
The session was conducted to help students in selecting stream of their choice. Around 40-45
participants mostly from Commerce and Humanities stream attended the workshop. The resource
person began by explaining the difference between Passion and Hobby and then stated how
career choices are evolutionary in nature. The workshop focussed on UPSC Exams, Chartered
Accountancy, Foreign Education and careers in the post COVID world. Mr. Sareen was able to
make the session very interesting with the help of a ppt. At the end of the workshop the students
interacted with him and thanked him for his valuable inputs. The session was quite enriching and
informative.
WORKSHOP: COPING STRATEGIES WITH THE PRESENT CHALLENGES
An online workshop on Coping Strategies with the Present Challenges was conducted for the
students of class XI on 18th May 2020. Around 50 students attended the session which was
conducted by Mr. Ashish Garg a motivational speaker from Pratham Institute. The workshop
focussed on the factors that stimulate stress such as anger, expectations, health issues,
uncertainties, academic pressure etc. Mr. Garg emphasized on identifying the stressor and giving
enough time to oneself to sort out the stressors. He suggested that one should find out the support
structure be it one’s best friend, sibling, parents, etc and insisted not to make friends only on social
acceptance.
He explained how COVID19 may affect students’ lives, the future of jobs, economy etc. and that
more focus should be on work experience, internships, online courses and degrees. He advised
the students not to get distracted by social sites, television, etc rather they should enhance subject
specific concerns and concentration level. The session was quite informative.
ONLINE SEMINAR ON CYBER LAWS AND CYBER SECURITY
Cambridge School, Noida conducted an online seminar on Cyber Laws and Cyber Security
through Microsoft Teams for the students of class XII on 20th May 2020. The seminar was
conducted by an alumnus of the school, Advocate Venkatesh Rao, an Advocate on Record in the
Supreme Court of India and was moderated by Ms. Deepa Wadhwa. Advocate Rao began with an
introduction to elementary terminologies of the online sphere, such as Internet, World Wide Web,
Network, etc. This was followed by a discussion on the advantages of the Internet, which included
factors such as worldwide connectivity and communication, accessibility, anonymity of the user,
etc. Advocate Rao specified the legal provisions available to safeguard oneself from cyber-crime,
such as the Information Technology Act, etc. The seminar also addressed issues of contemporary
importance in the field of Information Technology, such as the controversy over the Aarogya Setu
App, cybercrimes on social media, etc.
The seminar ended with a discussion on the various precautions one should take while accessing
the Internet such as keeping one’s data protected, using antivirus software, enabling privacy
settings among others. The seminar was an informative and interactive one and it gave the
students necessary pointers on a subject that concerns their everyday lives.

SESSION ON CHOICE OF SUBJECT
An online session was conducted on 22nd May 2020 for the students of class XI to make them
aware about the different subjects offered as 5th subject in the school. The session was attended
by Ms. Nandita Sinha Roy, Vice Principal, Ms. Deepa Wadhwa, Ms. Preeti Khanna, Mr. Jamal,
Ms. Preeti Sharma, Ms. Kirti Sasan, Ms. Jyoti Joshi and Mr. Sainil. Around 60 students from
different sections of Class XI attended the session. Ms. Preeti Sharma began the session by
briefing the students about Entrepreneurship as a subject, followed by Ms. Preeti Khanna who
spoke about Informatics Practices. Mr. Jamal and Ms. Kirti Sasan informed the students about
Political Science and Legal studies respectively. The teachers explained in detail the syllabus,
scope, admission criteria in universities and future prospects of their respective subjects with the
help of a Power Point presentation. The students actively participated by putting up relevant
queries.
E-MUN 2020
On Saturday, 23rd May 2020, five students from Cambridge School, Noida participated in the
online MUN hosted by Bal Bharti Public School, Noida. 65 students from different schools
representing various nations participated in the committee -United Nations General Assembly. The
agenda of the committee was Emerging future challenges for the world economy Post
COVID-19. Each delegate spoke for 90 seconds about the challenges faced by their countries
currently, and their strategies to overcome them. The students who participated and represented
various countries were Anushka Chaudhary Class XI – Israel, Zaid Khan Class XII – Peru,
Tejaswini Class IX – Belgium, Samya Kumar Class IX – Thailand and Naina Chitravanshi Class XI
– Ecuador
The concept of a virtual MUN was a unique experience for the participants who found the event
very enjoyable and enriching.
CAREER COUNSELLING WORKSHOPS HELD IN MAY 2020
To help students choose a field that is in tune with their skills, aptitude and their expectations,
various Career Counselling sessions were organised in the month of May. Professionals in this
area conducted webinars for specific Sr. Secondary classes to help them understand the wide
range of Careers available to match their ability, interest, and personality. The Resource Persons
with the help of PPT and discussions, were able to answer many queries raised by the students.

In the current global scenario where a pandemic is sweeping the world, it is inducing a range of
emotions in people from fear to anxiety and depression to uncertainty. It is predicted that mental
health concerns will see a sharp rise and more and more people will seek professional support.
Children and adolescents being of vulnerable age group need to be provided a safe space to
express and address their concerns. The workshops were conducted for students from class VII to
IX on Mental Health during times of a Global Crisis aimed at understanding their current mental
status and providing self-care tools to cope with the reality.
The workshop on "Cybersecurity and How Social Media Affects the Mind" was conducted by
School Counsellor along with Advocate Shrey Yadav focused in the wake of Boys Locker Room
incident that concerned teenagers and government. The workshop focused on informing class XI
students about cyber laws and rules prevalent in India and how cyber bullying and social media
can cause havoc in the minds of young teenagers and ways to deal with it.

An online session was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Radhakrishnan, Chief Operations Officer, Tata
Classedge on Leadership in a crisis. The session was attended by Ms. Jyoti Joshi, TGT

Computer Science and Mr. Sainil of Cambridge School, Noida on 1st May 2020. The objective of
this session was to discuss the challenges being faced by the teaching faculty and students in the
online teaching learning process. Mr. Radhakrishnan mentioned how Tata class modules would
play an important role by providing modules and assessment for schools.
HT JR CODE-A – THON
HT PACE is planning to launch HT JR Code-a – thon. The platform will not only provide children
a fun-way of learning coding but will also prepare them for a highly tech driven future. A webinar
organized by HT PACE was attended by Ms. Jyoti Joshi and Ms. Sarika Sharma on 1st May
2020.The aim of the webinar was to introduce students of classes VI to IX to an online learning
course on coding and create champions through participation in HT Jr. Code-a-thon. HT Pace will
arrange programmes online and will conduct a final competition in the month of November. For the
learning modules a charge of Rs. 499/- per student will be levied.
ONLINE ASSESSMENT BY NIIT
A webinar on Online Assessment was conducted by NIIT to introduce their flagship online
assessment solutions programme Practice Plus on 11th May 2020. The Resource Person was Mr.
Sanak Rai Chaudhary, Product manager NIIT. The features of comprehensive assessment
modules that were demonstrated included a comprehensive question bank and practice tests to
help students to analyse their responses and review their answers. Also, they would be able to
identify their mistakes and know about their strengths and weaknesses. The module will also
enable parents to monitor the progress of their wards. Initially it is available free for trial period
thereafter the software would be charged. It was a very informative session attended by Ms. Preeti
Khanna, HOD Comp. Sc, Ms.Jyoti Joshi TGT Computer Sc., Ms. Sandhya TGT Computer Sc. and
Mr. Sainil.
WEBINARS: BUSINESS STUDIES AND ACCOUNTANCY
• Business Studies
A webinar on Business Studies was conducted by Arya Book Depot on 16th May 2020 for the
teachers of Commerce Department. Ms. Shruti Khatri of Cambridge School, Noida attended the
event. The Resource Person Ms. Neeru Sethi, began the webinar by stating the challenges faced
due to COVID19 and keeping in mind the current scenario suggested some strategies to keep the
students engaged during these tough times. Details of deleted topics and changes in distribution
of marks and design of the question paper were also discussed. She also introduced Fun way of
Source Based questions to keep a child’s interest intact during class. The seminar was very
interesting and engaging for all the teachers.
• Partnership Fundamentals
A webinar dealing with Partnership Fundamentals was conducted for the teachers of Commerce
Department on 16th May 2020. Ms. Shruti Khatri of Cambridge School, Noida attended the
webinar. The Resource Person Mr. G S Grewal discussed the Fundamentals of Partnership in
detail by citing many examples. The webinar which ended with a question answer session was
very educative and gave an in-depth analysis of the subject.
• Accountancy (Peak Performance)

A Webinar on Accountancy (Peak Performance) was conducted for the teachers of the
Commerce Department on 17th May 2020 by Career Manthan. Ms. Shruti Khatri attended the
webinar. Dr. Vikas Vijay the resource person started on a positive note by stating how a teacher
could GROW (Goal, Reality, Options and Will) in the current situation by citing various examples
which focused on creating interest among the students in the teaching learning process.
Through a shared PPT he explained in detail the rules relating to DRR (Debenture Redemption
Reserve) and DRI (Debenture Redemption Investment). The seminar was very interactive as Dr.
Vikas Vijay kept conversing with the attendees during the seminar thereby clearing their doubts.
EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT WHEN TEACHING ONLINE
An online workshop on Evaluation and Assessment when teaching online was conducted by
McMillan Webinars on 27th May 2020 from 09:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Ms. Anikini Dhall of Cambridge
School, Noida attended the workshop. The resource person Mr. Russell Stannard discussed how
assessment can be conducted through Google forms. Not only tests based on MCQ, but also
subjective assessment can be conducted by using different formats. 1500 teachers from all over
the world attended the workshop which was quite extensive and useful.
DOWN TO EARTH WEBINAR: LOCUST ATTACK
A webinar on Down to Earth: Locust Attack was conducted by Centre for Science and
Environment on 29thMay, 2020. Ms. Bindu Muralidharan and Ms. Arpita attended the event.
The objective of the programme was to decipher the climate linkages and other factors behind the
new peril of locust attack amid the nations struggle against virulent viruses and cataclysmic
cyclones. Ms. Sunita Narain, Director General, CSE welcomed the attendees and gave an
overview of the programme.
The Resource person Mr. Keith Cressman, Senior Desert Locust Officer, FAO, Rome discussed
about the movement of the swarms from East Africa to India, the effect of climatic factors on their
movement and the spraying of pesticides to control the locusts. Mr. Richard Mahapatra explained
the effect of locust attack in East Africa and gave suggestions regarding the preparations that
have to be made in terms of policies, finance and technology in case of any locust attack. He
emphasised on an integrated approach for dealing with the problem. Ms. Shagun and Mr. Ishant
Kukreti shared their experiences of locust attack in the villages of Dholpur and Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The webinar ended with a question answer session wherein the attendees raised their queries
related to the locust attack. It was an enlightening and enriching experience.

MATHS WEBINAR
A webinar on Online Teaching Techniques in Mathematics for Primary and Secondary Teachers
was conducted by IPN leading Knowledge Network of School Leaders on 31st May 2020, It was
attended by Ms. Sangeeta Das Mr. Vivek and Mr. Zubair Ahmed. Mr. Sreehari Kulur, Principal,
KCP Siddhartha Adarsh Residential Public School, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh was the resource
person. He shared his views on teaching Maths online and motivated the participants to utilise the
readily available applications and websites.
Mr. Kulur induced the idea of playing games and shared some puzzles and calculation tricks
through a PPT. He illustrated the use of MS Excel and PowerPoint for discussing topics such as
factors and multiples, multiplication tables etc. in primary classes. The resource person highlighted
the multi-disciplinary approach by using MS Excel formulas to calculate sum, average, plot graphs
etc. in secondary classes. Various features of Google forms were shown to prepare online Maths
assessment/quizzes. It was an interesting session where one could learn new ideas to explore MS
OFFICE applications.

FILM MAKING WEBINAR
Ms. Kiran Sibal attended a webinar on Why and How should you make short films, organised
by CMS vatavaran, on 31st May 2020, from 4:30pm to 6pm. Filmmaker Anshul Sinha, recipient of
'Pride of Telangana' title, winner of 130 National & International awards, 60 International
Nominations and 4 times TEDx speaker conducted the session. He spoke about the different
steps involved in filmmaking; Idea and the hidden emotion, the subject, the stake, the genre, etc.
He shared his own experiences of attending film festivals with relevant examples. The session
was informative and interesting.
COMPETITIONS AND ACTIVITIES
INTER SCHOOL ONLINE ART COMPETITION
An Inter School Online Art Competition was conducted by Delhi Police Public School, New Delhi
on 2nd May 2020 to promote the spirit of honing artistic skills amongst the students and to have a
delightful experience of an online competition. The theme of the competition was based on the
current global situation- COVID -19. The topics for the artwork to be done in the form of paintings
and posters were COVID-19 – Nature’s Wrath/ Fury, Corona Virus Vs Man – A Battle for
Survival and Global Lockdown- The Revival of Earth’s Lost Glory.
Six students from Cambridge School, Noida who participated in the competition were Ayushi
Sinha VII A, Parul Arora VIII D, Shagun Saxena IX C, Kirti Sharma X C, Sudipta Deb XI B and
Vaishnavi Sharma XII E. The students put in a splendid effort in the race to win prizes and their
creative genius found expression through their colourful canvas explicitly depicting the themes on
COVID -19. The manifestation of their ideas in the artwork was indeed very commendable.

On 27thand 28th January 2020, 96 students of classes VI-IX appeared in the Knowledge and
Awareness Mapping Platform KAMP, which is an International intellect E-based assessment
platform to evaluate cognizance of 21st century skills, awareness and knowledge of Science,
Technology & Humanities among students, KAMP is an Initiative of CSIR-National Institute of
Science Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS). It intends to develop creativity,
meaningful learning, critical reading and thinking skills that brings out the inherent abilities of the
students. The results were declared on 31st May 2020. Each child received a comprehensive
report of the assessment of their performance.
