members industry-leading parental controls, anti-virus software, and innovative security technologies and standards

to help create a safe online experience.

FOLLOWING ARE SOME ONLINE SAFETY, SECURITY AND PRIVACYTIPS FROM AT&T INTERNET SERVICES:

Privacy› Don’t share your passwords. Becautious of giving out personal information,particularly your Social Security number ornames of family members, unless you arefamiliar with the company and its Web siteprivacy policy.

› Use passwords that are hard to guess.Use combinations of letters, numbers andsymbols, and change your account passwordsfrequently.

› Use pop-up ad blocking tools. Pop-upad-blocking features let you control the quantityand type of pop-ups you receive or to blockthem completely.

› Encrypt confidential e-mails. Encryptionrequires the recipient to use a key to read yourinformation. This will help keep confidentialinformation private.

› Don’t download unauthorized contentor use file-sharing software. Usingpirated music, movies, or software and sharingcomputer files makes you vulnerable to privacyand security attacks and may violate copyrightlaws. Always obtain content from an authorizedsource, and avoid using file-sharing software.

Safety› Monitor’s children’s use. Useparental controls, like those provided byAT&T High Speed Internet, to customizesecurity settings for kids, teens, andmature teens and to monitor Webbrowsing, e-mail, instant messaging andchat rooms.

› Place the computer in a “public”area of the house. If the computer isin the family room, children might be lesstempted to visit sites that are off-limits.
