Our Strategies
• Harder Consequences- Suspension instead of detention with guidance counselor bullying class.
• Entire School Assembly- goes in depth with consequences for the victim like suicide or a need for revenge which results in some shootings.
• Video Cameras in hallways with kid-friendly poster
Implementing our Strategy
• We could talk to principal and get student council involved in making an in depth presentation for school.
• Talk to Art Club make posters• Install small, unnoticeable video cameras
Materials for Strategies
• Well-developed PowerPoint including results• Victims • Announcements about assembly• 2nd Strategy- need small video cameras• Poster supplies and positive messages
Proof our Ideas Work
• Know if strategies work when we take a survey before/after and there are less kids reporting being bullied.
• Bullies notice there is no chance to bully so incidents decrease.
Targets
• Anyone could be a target if they are weak, have low self-confidence, or alone.
• Right place, right time• Middle Schoolers common because have very
low self-confidence due to changes in their friends, bodies, and minds.
• Religious/Racist targets are those with a specific religion or race.
How do Victims Deal with it?
• Victims of bullying display a range of responses, even many years later, such as:
• Telling a teacher or parent• Committing suicide• Telling their problems to a counselor • Bullying others• Bringing a gun to school (over 100,000 students do)• Doing drugs because they were not educated on them
and they think the drugs will make them feel better
