SIA offers a service platform of the finest specialists intheir fields. We have developed relationships with localconsultants Jayme Johnson for safety consulting and TerriKragseth for human resources consulting. We also haveLeonard Street on retainer for employment law consulting. All these resources are available to our business clients.

We’ve also added employee wellness to our service plat-form. Our employee wellness initiative took an excitingstep forward with the recent addition of Sarah Zapp. Sarahrecently graduated from UMD with a major in communityhealth education and will be assisting our clients in buildingemployee wellness programs. Employee health plans areonly getting more expensive, and we have found that wecan mitigate these increases with wellness strategies byhelping our clients’ employees improve their health: a truewinning proposition for all involved.

SIA, as an independent agency, has access to multipleemployee-benefit carriers. Our employee benefit division, managed by Natalie Peterson, Bill Prout, Cyndi Heibel andTom Bergum, works with businesses ranging in size from 2 to 2,000 employees. We offer fully insured and self-fundedemployee health, dental, life, long- and short-term disabilityprograms as well as voluntary benefits.

Our commercial lines division consisting of Heidi Nessa,Mike Bergum, Cyndi Heibel, Bill Prout and Tom Bergumcontinues to grow. The ability to provide our service plat-form has allowed us to negotiate favorable terms with insurance carriers in many instances, particularly with businesses that may be struggling with workers’ compensa-tion or other claims.
