Buckinghamshire Weight management Referral (Tier 2) – Buckinghamshire County Council commission a weight management programme at Live Well Stay Well. This is accessible digitally (level 2) or face to face (level 3), which supports overweight and obese adults aged 16 and over to lose weight and learn how to maintain a healthier weight. Weight management referral (Tier 2) – Patients aged ≥16 years with a BMI of ≥30 or more (or ≥23.5 with co-morbidities/Asian background) to attend 12 weeks of Slimming World or Weight Watchers or Man Vs Fat for 14 weeks. Per year, 2,200 FREE places are available, in addition there are 300 places on a 6-month programme. These services are very successful and close to capacity.

Berkshire West
Weight management (tier 2) referral – West Berkshire Council and Wokingham Borough Council commission a weight management programme operated by Eat4Health. Eat4Health offers a free 12 week weight management programme to support people to lose weight and increase physical activity. The programmes are delivered in group settings and are open to anyone 16 years and above who have a BMI over 25. The schemes are designed for GP’s and any other Health Professionals to refer people who are sedentary or who have a medical condition that would benefit from an increased level of physical activity. It offers people the opportunity to participate in regular physical activity under the guidance of qualified exercise professionals at their local leisure centre at a reduced rate. These combine activities specific to their needs in order to help improve fitness, health and wellbeing.
