Yiftach Sagiv, Professor
Yiftach Sagiv gives the module on Effective Self-
Management and co-instructs Advanced
Communications Skills and Advanced Teamwork &
Cooperation Skills at Business School Lausanne. After
retiring from the Israeli military in 1975, Sagiv was
shareholder and director of A.M.I. Supplies LTD, a
company, specializing in marketing and building
constructions.
In 1986 he managed the R&D department for a large
company in textile products. In 1989 Sagiv became a
coach and a trainer for personal and organizational
development. He founded the Dutch company Essence
Training and, since 2003, has dedicated himself to
creating learning tracks in personal development and
business performance.

Claudia Kranefuss, Professor
Claudia Kranefuss is CEO of Essence Trainings. She gives
the modules on Advanced Communications Skills and Advanced Teamwork & Cooperation Skills at Business
School Lausanne and co-instructs Effective Self-Management. Kranefuss began working with Essence
Trainings as a co-trainer in 2000, and now as CEO she is responsible for the company’s strategy. Prior to Essence
Trainings, Kranefuss worked for ANWB Publications, where she served as Marketing Manager until 2001, when she became a Publisher for the group. Kranefuss
has a Master’s Degree from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and holds the Dutch marketing degrees
NIMA A and B. She is a graduate of the Universität Heidelberg and Westfälische Willems Universität.

Michael Hathorn, Professor
Michael Hathorn the Developing & Managing Others course at Business School Lausanne. He is currently a
partner of OPTIMIS Sarl, where he focuses consulting services on strategy and organizational development.
Previously working for an investment management firm, Capital International, Hathorn founded and headed the
firm’s Training and Development function for the European businesses. At TNT in Amsterdam, he served as Group Director of Learning and Organizational
Development. Hathorn is a contributor to the World Business Council on Sustainable Development and is a
member of the Society for Organizational Learning and the American Marketing Association. Hathorn is a
graduate of Louisiana State University with a BA in Political Science and an MS in Marketing. He is currently
a Ph.D candidate at the University of St. Gallen.

Margaret Flaherty, Professor
Professor Margaret Flaherty (Swiss, Irish, and American)
teaches at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA level at BSL. Margaret’s 25-year career has focused on building
coalitions of multinational companies, “visible rivals”, around the business and sustainability agenda. Her
consulting work centers on guiding business & trade associations towards programs that are impactful,
influential and innovative.
She was part of the founding team of the Swiss-based
World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), an organization she helped launch about 20
years ago and was the Chief Operating Officer / Chief of Staff for many years. More recently, she was Senior
Advisor to FSG (www.fsg.org) – a Boston-headquartered social impact firm.
Margaret currently serves as a member of the Corporate Citizenship Advisory Board for Abbott Laboratories (Illinois, USA) and is a faculty member of the De Tao
Master’s Academy (Shanghai, China). She has been a member of the Sustainability Advisory Boards of
Caterpillar (USA), Areva (France), AccountAbility (UK) and the Business and Human Rights Council (UK). She
has a M.Sc from Tufts University (Boston, USA) and a Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of
Law (Boston, USA). She has also completed Executive Education Programs at both Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT) and Harvard Business School.

public and private sector. In 2012 she founded VIVA

Dr. Jean-Philippe Challandes
Prof. Dr. Jean-Philippe Challandes teaches at the
Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA level at BSL. A former professional Ice Hockey goaltender, Dr. Jean-Philippe
Challandes is an experienced professor & facilitator. He has taught for the last 20 years to a vast variety of
audiences – from children to adults – in a diversity of cultural and institutional contexts, including doctoral
seminars. Originally a specialist of the Nation and State building process, he holds a PhD in Political History from
the University of Brasilia. His 6 years of high-level international research led him to an international post-
doctoral project that was completed at prestigious University Paris1-Sorbonne.
An expert of what is commonly described as
“Modernity” – and therefore of the transition into our
post-Industrial Revolution world – he increasingly
became fascinated by Human Development both at
collective and individual scales. Also operating as an
independent consultant, he developed an approach
strongly focused on values. Dr. Challandes brings
creative ways of “connecting the dots” between
personal development, leadership improvement and
sustainable business.

Lena Koropey
Lena Koropey, American, gives seminars on International Business Etiquette and Presentation Skills
at the MBA level at BSL. Founder of Gramercy Protocol, Lena provides strategic business etiquette and
communication skills counsel to Fortune 100 companies representing some of the world’s most prestigious
luxury brands. Lena has over ten years of marketing communications, brand management, and public relations experience working with distinguished brands
such as Mercedes-Benz and Voss water.
Ms. Koropey earned her certification in Corporate
Etiquette and International Protocol Consulting from The Protocol School of Washington. She holds a
Bachelor degree in Spanish and Political Science from Rutgers College, and studied Fashion Marketing and
Design at Parsons. Lena earned her MBA, Cum Laude, in Global Business Management from Business School
Lausanne.

Ulrich Golüke
Ulrich Golüke, born and raised in the Rhineland of Germany, studied systems dynamics with Dennis
Meadows, co-author of the ‘Limits to Growth’ study.
He has been building feedback models ever since. For the last 20 years or so he has in addition worked with
scenarios, as a way to imagine and create futures different than the official ones. He is a freelancer who
works with companies, universities, foundations and students. He has lived in Wales, the United States,

Jacques Billy, Professor
Prof. Jacques Billy, Swiss and French, teaches at the
MBA and Master’s level at BSL. Prof. Billy is owner of
Finalta consulting company which provides financial
advice and solutions to start-up companies and
sophisticated clients. Since 2012, Jacques is part of the
Treasury Management and Finmetrics networks, where
he is in charge of senior advisory assignments. He has
over 20 years of experience in financial advice,
controlling and treasury operations. Prof. Billy started
his career in a base metals trading company in Geneva,
now part of Rio Tinto, and then continued his career
path as Head of Finance for Fotolabo Group, a Swiss
listed company. Later, he joined the in-house bank of
Reed Elsevier, a leading information provider
worldwide, where he managed all operations of the
Swiss branch in 2001-2012.

Prof. David Bridge (British) teaches at the Master’s and
MBA level. He is currently CEO of Bridge Interim Management Sarl providing CFO services to start up organisations throughout Europe. Prof. Bridge has more
than 35 years of experience primarily with fast growing hi-tech Companies.
Prior to founding Bridge Interim Management Prof. Bridge spent more than 15 years with Autodesk, a $2B+
US software company. He held a number of senior level roles in Autodesk in Europe, Middle East and Africa,
including responsibilities for Finance, IT, M and A, Sales Operations and Sales Channel organisations.
Prof. Bridge has lived in the Suisse Romande region for more than 20 years and has extensive international
experience having lived and worked in the US and Asia as well as Europe. He is a qualified UK Chartered

Mark Schumacher, Professor
Prof. Mark Schumacher is the Founder and Managing
Director of The Management & Marketing TOOLBOX, a consultancy, transition and project management
agency. For over 20 years, he has been working in the luxury, FMCG and service industry in an international
context with companies such as the Swatch Group and Luis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy (LVMH). His recent clients
are MCI, the Swiss Tourism Board, Nestlé, the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) and the Swiss Commission for
Innovation and Technology (CTI).
He is also a lecturer at AKAD, Lausanne, UBIS, Geneva,
the MSB, Montreux and the European University, Zürich as well as coaching start-up companies in the frame of the CTI Entrepreneurship program too.
Prof. Schumacher holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences,

development coaching company, Verticacoaching, in Switzerland. Prof. Guy Ngayo has worked and lived in 6
different countries, working on implementing strategic, change management, marketing and business growth
initiatives on a global scale for tier one global companies. Prof. Guy Ngayo held leadership roles at the French Embassy in Washington DC, Hilti Worldwide, and
Andersen Consulting/Accenture.
Prof. Ngayo earned a Master’s degree in Sociology from
University of Rouen/University of Montreal, a Master’s in Management from HEC Montreal, an MBA from
Thunderbird and an Executive Coaching Certification from the Columbia University in the city of New York.

Philippe Vedel, Professor Professor Philippe Vedel holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from IMD.
He is a Senior Consultant and Business Developer for SMEs and Startups in the technology and digital sectors.
He is also a lecturer within renowned Business Schools in International Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Digital
Marketing, E-Commerce and E-Business. He is also the founder of SmartStory a startup transforming implicit knowledge into digital objects.
Previous positions include:
MBA Program Director at Eduservices. In this role,
Philippe managed International Sales/Marketing and Human Resources MBAs. Prior to Eduservices, Philippe
was VP Global Sales and Marketing in a fast-growing technology start-up allowing digital intelligence and

Benjamin Wall, Professor
Benjamin Wall (USA) began teaching at the Bachelor’s
level for BSL in 2014. For many years he worked at
KPMG in consulting, key account management and
knowledge management, specializing in the automobile
and pharmaceutical industries. His consulting
experience in strategy, marketing and sales, HRM and
organization began at UBS and continued afterwards at
Abegglen Management Consultants, a leading Swiss
consultant in the Zurich area. Parallel to the consulting
experience, Prof. Wall has been very active as a lecturer
in London and Switzerland for over 30 years. He has
taught economics and managerial economics, along
with the management topics in which he consults, on
many programs at the Master’s and Bachelor’s level.
Furthermore, he was active in management training at
the University of St. Gallen.
Prof. Wall holds a B.S. from Yale University in Economics
and Psychology, as well as a M.Sc. from the London
School of Economics in both Sociology as well as
Economic History.

Professor Dr. Timothy Connerton teaches at the
Master’s level and gives MBA Management Report advice at BSL. He has over 30 years’ experience in
marketing and business development, strategic planning and managing construction-related and industrial
manufacturing businesses worldwide. As President and Director of major divisions in Norsk Hydro/Hydro
Aluminium, Alcoa and Alghanim Industries, Prof. Connerton has traversed the globe for the past 15 years leading an extensive network of companies in Europe,
Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East for sustainable growth, operational performance
excellence, strategic realignment and organizational renewal. Having taught throughout his career, created
many corporate training programs and engaged in developing his people in business, Dr. Connerton
believes in lifelong learning and holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University, USA, a MA in
Economics and Finance from Webster University, Switzerland, and a Certificate of Research in

Anja Lacquin, Professor
Prof. Langer Jacquin teaches at the Bachelor, Masters
and MBA levels at BSL. She works as an independent corporate advisor through her company ValueChange,
focused on business model evolution and culture change, mainly in the high tech and communications
industries.
Most recently, Prof. Langer Jacquin was Managing Director of the Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Russia
region for Cisco’s Consulting Services business. During her 15 years at Cisco, Prof. Langer Jacquin held various
international management positions in sales, services, internal consulting, operations, and business
development. Prior to working with Cisco, Prof. Langer Jacquin was with Mercer Management Consulting based
in Munich and London. She started her career in international market research in Brussels.
Prof. Langer Jacquin holds a triple Master’s degree in Management from ESCP Europe (Paris-Oxford-Berlin) as
well as a Bachelor in Communication and Marketing (Brussels). She is a Danish national currently based in
Geneva, Switzerland with her French husband and two children. She speaks fluent Danish, English, French, as
well as working level German and Dutch and has lived in nine countries so far.
