Puntarenas embodies a different type of industrial activ-ity, one which consists of multiple smaller scale industrial sites, all lined up to form an industrial shore of scat-tered scenarios of the Puntarenas north coast. Even though small scale, their impact on the materiality of the coastline is imminent, causing a solidification of an oth-erwise maleable and ductile geomorphological behavior.
This type of programmatic solidifcation has had a greater impact on the ecologies which inter-act with the urban development of Puntarenas. So strong is this solidified development that the bor-der breaks with the urban process of Puntarenas.
