The next generation of planning tools within SAP BI will be BI-Integrated Planning. BI-Integrated Planning will allow for the ease ofuse of planning in the SAP BI environment, while also being fullyintegrated with SAP NetWeaver.

The Planning ModelerTo facilitate the integration into the BI environment, we need anew tool for the modeling of planning applications.
The web-based Planning Modeler is the central application where the complete modeling and customizing for the BI Integrated Planning is done. In the modeler, one maintains the different planning related objects like aggregation levels and planning functions and the relationships among these objects.

What are usage scenarios of Information Broadcastingtogether with BI Integrated Planning (NW7.0)?
BI/BI Integrated Planning has 2 options for end user interfaces: Excel based (BEx Analyzer) and Web based (BEx Web). Planning applications are either Analyzer workbooks or BI Web templates for data entry.
Standard Information Broadcasting functionality is available also for planning/data entry applications and can be used to distributePlanning templates to users.

Migration to SAP NetWeaver 7.0
BW-BPS will be delivered and maintained with SAP BI releases equal or higher to SAP NetWeaver 2004.
All scenarios created with BW-BPS* will still run when BI-Integrated Planning is delivered.
Planning scenarios built with BW-BPS can coexist and integrate with planning scenarios built with BI-Integrated Planning. For example: an InfoCube can be used by BW-BPS and BI-Integrated Planning at the same time.

Migration
Migration to SAP NetWeaver 7.0
Apart from this fact, SAP will offer a migration path for the move from BW-BPS to BI-Integrated Planning if needed
No data migration necessary: BI-Integrated Planning can use the same Real-time InfoProviders as BW-BPS.The already existing planning model (characteristics, key figures, authorizations, locking concept, ...) can be reused in BI-Integrated Planning.More front-end related objects like planning layouts, web interfaces etc., have to be rebuilt manually
With the introduction of BI Integrated Planning in SAP NW 7.0 BW-BPS and SEM-BPS will still be maintained.New planning functionality will be delivered with BI Integrated Planning only.
