Week in Review
This weekend, Obama supporters across the country will answer the call to actionby hosting community events in support of his candidacy. Attendees will also havethe opportunity to view Senator Obamas community kickoff via live webstream at
www.barackobama.com.
Last weekend, Senator Obama returned to Nevada to attend the New Leadership on
Healthcare Presidential Forum hosted by SEIU where he highlighted the need for aneffective and affordable universal health care system. He completed the weekendwith fundraisers in Miami, Florida; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Atlanta,
Georgia.
In addition to hosting a national community gathering in Onawa, Obama will visitCouncil Bluffs, Iowa for a town hall meeting, Denison, Iowa for a Meet the
Candidate event before wrapping up the weekend with a Town Hall in Sioux City,Iowa.
Early next week, Obama will travel to New Hampshire where he will kick off a
series of community meetings on healthcare with an event in Portsmouth. He willmeet with community members and local healthcare workers about theirexperiences with the healthcare system in preparation for his own rollout of ahealthcare plan in the coming months.

On Tuesday, April 3, Obama will hold a forum to get input from the

Obama Works to Expand Use of Biofuels Nationwide:
Senator Barack Obama organized a bipartisan group of 14 senators to urge
Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the world's leading product safety testing
organization, to complete its certification process for E-85 pumps. Several yearsago, UL approved the use of multi-product fuel dispenser components only torescind that certification on October 5, 2006. Without that certification, greaterdistribution of E-85 has been stymied. In responding to the Obama letter, ULsaid it would complete the certification process by the end of 2007.
Obama and McCaskill Introduced Initiative that would Improve Treatment
for Servicemembers:
Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) were joined by
Senators Kerry (D-MA), Cantwell (D-WA), Biden (D-DE), Harkin (D-IA),Mikulski (D-MD), and Bingaman (D-NM) yesterday to introduce an amendmentto the Iraq supplemental bill that would improve care for service members atactive duty military hospitals by adding caseworkers and mental health
counselors, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, establishing a womens mental healthtreatment program and providing a comprehensive mental health study to ensure
that the needs of returning soldiers are met. The amendment is based on S. 713,the Dignity for Wounded Warriors Act, which Obama and McCaskill introduced
in February.
Obama to Launch Series of Community Meetings on Healthcare in
Portsmouth:
Barack Obama will begin a series of community meetings on healthcare with anevent in Portsmouth, New Hampshire next Tuesday. Barack Obama believesthat every American deserves access to high-quality care and he is committed to
achieving by the end of his first term as President. The community meetings onhealthcare will focus on gathering the anecdotes and opinions from the realexpertsfamilies in this country.

GRASSROOTS SPOTLIGHT:
Grassroots Organizing from Michigan
Students, community leaders, and others gathered in Novi,
Michigan on March 24th to discuss ways they can work
together in support of Obama. Even though Obama was not
scheduled to attend, there were over 350 attendees including22 students from the Michigan SFBO chapter at the event at
the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Novi, Michigan.
"Senator Obama is not for business as usual. He is a strongleader and he brings the background and passion for serving
people," Sen. Tupac A. Hunter, D-Detroit, told supporters.
IOWA: Hope Action Change:
This week, the Obama for Iowa team is gearing up for SenatorObamas Western swing through the state. From Saturday, March 31st
through Sunday, April 1st, Obama will hear directly from the Iowa
community through a series of town halls and meet the candidateevents in Council Bluffs, Onawa, Dennison, Ida Grove, and SiouxCity.
On Saturday, The Hope, Action, Change Community Kickoff events
will take place in local communities nationwide. At 3:00 PM Central,
Senator Obama will join families in Onawa, Iowa for a kickoff event
which will be web streamed live atwww.barackobama.com. Acrossthe nation, supporters will gather their friends, family, and neighbors
to discuss the need for a change in leadership and their support for
Barack Obama.

Moines office this week. Mr. Greenquist completed the following

Students for Barack Obama (SFBO) will answer the Call to
Action this weekend by hosting hundreds of community
organizing events on college campuses nationwide. The SFBO
national leadership team is a dynamic force driving the student
movement in support of Barack Obama. Students for BarackObama aims to have student led chapters in every state by the
end of April and at their rate of growth, they are well on their
