The Legal Entity

• The incorporated entity is a Community Benefit Society (a type of co-operative) under the Industrial and Provident Societies (Northern Ireland) Act 1969

• Registered with the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland and also with the NI Charity Commission (submitted and awaiting charitable status approval)

• The shares in the Society are withdrawable shares. These type of shares cannot be traded on any stock exchange and are not transferable

Our Aims ENSHRINED IN OUR COMMUNITY BENEFIT SOCIETY RULES

• Provide or assisting in the provision of facilities and services primarily for the benefit of the community of Ballymacash and surrounding areas for recreational, sporting and other leisure use

• Provide facilities for persons who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social or economic circumstances may have need of special facilities and services

• Maintain facilities for the home ground of Ballymacash Rangers Football Club as the pre-eminent enterprise in the amateur football community of Lisburn.

Sports Bursaries We aim to offer our young sports people an opportunity to apply for a Sports Bursary. This will be for a range of sports ranging from Badminton and Boxing to Rugby and Motor Racing and full details will be available on our website from October 2018. Eligibility Criteria will be agreed and a Funding Committee established to approve Bursary Awards.

Q and A 1. Are shares transferable? No 2. Can I lose my money? Yes, potentially and it should be understood that there are no guarantees but shareholders are not liable for anything other than the amount they have invested. 3. Can I withdraw my money? Yes, but not for 5 years (see BSA Rules.) 4. Can I earn Interest? Yes, in year 6 if money is available (See BSA Rules.) 5. What if the fundraising target isn’t reached? You get your money back if the project can’t be funded and the target isn’t reached as per share offer.

Q and A 6. What will the relationship be between the BSA and BRFC? BRFC will be the secured and exclusive tenant as per the aims of the BSA to maintain facilities for the home ground of BRFC. 7. Will Ballymacash Rangers FC get some of my money if I invest? No. The BSA has a Board of Legally Liable Directors that keep Strong financial governance, Separate bank accounts and is governed by the NI Charities Commission and Co-operative Alternatives 8. Where will the BSA get it’s income from to make it profitable and afford the expansion and building work? All rental for the 3G Pitch, Hire of the community hub , Rent from BRFC, Grants , Share Offerings, Gym Membership , Rent from Cryo-Spa, Corporate Sponsorship

These will all be available for download from the website at end of May. 11. Can I buy shares as a gift for my children? Yes , on a named basis but they are held for the child until they are 16. When the child turns 16 they have the option to become a full member with a vote. While the child is under 16 the Parent will only have one vote, regardless of how many shares are held for additional children.
