(6) Boat Trip Package
(A) Normal Sightseeing Trip
Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda
This is the most famous religious site on the lake. Located here are five 800 year old Buddha statues. The shape and
appearance of the statues are rather unusual as devotees have donated a lot of gold leaves to decorate them. There
is a big festival usually in October lasting around 18 days, depending on the Buddhist calendar. It takes 45 minutes
drive by the boat to get there from the resort.
Silk Weaving Village (or) Inn Paw Khon Village
Fantastic quality silk cloth with fabulous hand-weaved patterns & designs are created in the Inn Paw Khon Village.
Traditional techniques, such as tied and dyed, are detailed and time consuming procedures that have been handed
down from generation to generation. Many different cloths, clothing and silk products can be seen and bought here.
Ywa Ma Village (or) Floating Market
The Floating Market is in Ywa Ma Village; which comes together once every five days. Amongst many different items
you are able to find hand crafted products such as Shan bags, gold and silver wares which are main products of that
village.
Nam Pan Village
Nam Pan Village is located just before the Silk village. Here at Nam Pan many of the local villagers work in the
traditional workshops making the cheroots (Burmese Cigar), the other workshops in the village are for the boat
carpenters. The village is very interesting in itself, as all the houses are built on stilts resting just above the water of
the lake. Many people call it the Venice of the East.
The Monastery with Trained Cats
The Ngaphe Chaung Monastery situated in Ngaphe Chaung Village is popularly known as the Jumping Cat Monastery.
It was built on the instruction of the Nyaung Shwe Saw Bwa Sir Saw Maung in 1843. The monastery has 5 flights of
stairs and is an ancient monastery. When you are touring the Inle lake region, you are warmly invited to venerate the
ancient Buddha images and observe the unusual jumping skills of the fascinating cats.
Page 15 of 16 Valid from May 2014 to Sep 2015
(B) Shwe Inn Daing Pagoda Sightseeing + Normal Sightseeing
On the western shore of the Inle Lake, easily accessible, by boat and a short walk through the village to the covered
colonnade to the temple hill, best seen in the early morning light as the sun rises above the hills on the eastern shore.
Indein village has a 5 day market which travelers can visit and each year the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival comes
to Indein Village. The Indein Pagoda Festival is also celebrated every year. Full day hiking from the Indein temples to
the U Daung Mountain Monastery can also be arranged.
(C) Thaung Tho Temple Complex & Monastery+ Normal Sightseeing
A pleasant journey of 2 hours by boat to the south of Inle Lake from Nyaung Shwe. Set off on a hill along the western
side of Inle Lake, a short walk to the mound of the temples and a foot path to the adjoining Monastery. Thaung Tho
Monastery celebrates on the morning of the Full Moon of Thadingyut when all of the local Pa-O, Intha and Shan
villagers come for worship and festival gatherings. Also the Thaung Tho Pagoda Festival is held annually. These two
events are especially interesting for travelers who will get a unique chance to meet the local villagers of this area.
(E) Tha Kaung Temple Complex (or) Sakar Trip
In late 2003 travel to the very south of the Lake was opened to all foreigners, so it is possible to visit "Tha Kaung
Temple" on the eastern shore of the channel leading to Sakar Lake, a beautiful complex with a main pagoda and
covered colonnade and several smaller pagodas with unique Buddha statues and paintings. Further around are small
stupas many with interesting Buddha images. A visit to Tha Kaung should be combined with a full day excursion to
the south of the Lake.
(F) Canoe Trip
(i) Community Development Campaign Program to Pe'pin Inn Village
The villagers with canoes will come and pick up at the hotel jetty and please kindly offer a few dollars to them. They
will show you around their village. It is an alternative income source and we encourage them to minimize cutting
trees and unlimited fishing.
We proud to volunteer this project and there will be "No Charges" from the hotel.
(ii) Honeymooner Canoe Trip per pax
The hotel will be arranged with small boat by rowing from the staff and we provide flowers, Fruit, Juice and mineral
water in the boat. Romance and relax with sunset of the inle.
(7) Welcome Flowers Per Pax
The florist will be arrange with seasonal flower and welcome to the guest at the jetty.
