"नास्ति विद्यासमो बन्धुनाास्ति विद्यासमः सुहृि ्। नास्ति विद्यासमं वित्तं नास्ति विद्यासमं सुखम ्॥ "
Education must aim at self-fulfillment and not merely the acquisition of knowledge. Education must not be limited to the brain or to the development of the physical senses. The aim should be to transform the entire personality of man. Education is a process of control of the mind. The total individual is its chief concern. The pupils have to imbibe the qualities and ideals of the teacher. Child centric pedagogy which emphasises on inquiry and project based learning will help in arousing curiosity in students who will strive to experiment and innovate. Education should go beyond the limits of pre discovered facts and theorems. It should break all barriers and ignite young minds to become inquirers, thinkers, achievers, communicators and Global citizens. We value collaborative learning and strongly believe in the importance of teachers, parents and administrators collaborating and communicating to improve the quality of education. Our students are encouraged to engage in the world of the future with expected skills and attributes. My very competent teams of teachers strive to focus on each and every child, nurture them and appreciate their achievement in all spheres. We highly appreciate the energy that the parents demonstrate in support of the school and value relationships with the broader community. Our partnership with the community will always be sustained and together we will equip and lead our children to the pinnacle of success.

"School, is what kind of grows you into the person you
are, I have great memories, good & bad, some learning
experiences and some that l will take with me the rest of
my life", was quoted by Giancarlo Stanton. As a child when
the tiny feet are firm on the ground, parents beam at each
other ,then nodd their heads agreeing to transfer the tiny
mould of clay to the potter's experienced hands. It is
certainly true, the saying a child sets foot in & out of
school with the same glistening teary eyes, the emotions
being quite the contrast yet droplets retain. I have often
noticed in the initial years little girls & boys speak with
each other in one of the most queer but interesting
manner, though lacking a common learned language and
coming from different backgrounds; they communicate.
Yes! They mingle. Here our temple of learning forms a
base, it creates uniformity in differences playing the role
of a strong string connecting scattered pearls to form the
most beautiful necklace. When we ask our elders
regarding the golden days of the past, only visions of their
charming, warmly cherished school days float past their
mind. Schools paint memories, sometimes maybe with
warm colours of red & yellow glorious time spent with
friends or sometimes maybe with cool hues of blue & grey
days that when pondered upon in later years seem simply
irrelevant. There seemingly is no better engineer than
school. A place which builds personality, opinion
,character, adjustment, individuality and creativity.
Schools have the superlative power of transforming a
particular no one into a self-superhero . Mind you, grasp
these muslin years tight before it's too late.

ESMERALDA THROUGH THE EYES OF HER COMMUNE
There is an old baker in Esmeralda I like to go visit ever since I was little. Every time I do, he takes some time off work and sits down to chat,
all while feasting on some pastries and bread with me. “The new transit line that’s put in place sure seems to help a lot of people” the old baker
starts for today’s session. “And by people of course, I mean the tourists.” The bakery sits on a street that overlooks the canal below, dotted by other
streets on either of its side in the shape of a U.The baker’s initial excitement seems to wear off. He sighs and says “But you know, Esmeralda was
never meant to be a piece of cake when it came to travelling to and fro her streets and waters; its meant to be an experience, and one that resides
in a part of your memory forever.” He hands me a slice of fresh bread and continues. “The whole purpose of this city has been to supply an endless
amount of mystery and surprise while walking through her tangled streets; you and I know that much better than some tourist who just wants the
easy route to see the landmarks and leave.”“Rightly so.” I think to myself. “What’s the point of that?! Well, it’s their loss, I guess. More streets for us
to explore!” the baker declares, his initial excitement slowly creeping back in. I like Esmeralda. It has twisting streets and steps and bridges and so
many more places to run around and play in.Esmeralda is full of surprises in every turn with hundred different ways and possibilities to get from one
place to another. Its never a dull day wandering through this city. Like for instance, just today on my way over to the bakery, I sighted three friends
who skipped school, hide and escape from their teacher who set out for lunch. On spotting their teacher, they promptly turned a corner and
disappeared into the deep underground tunnels. A long time ago, the tunnels used to be musty sewers. But with a better sewage system in place,
the authorities decided to convert some into commuter tunnels.
“You took the tunnels today, didn’t you?” the old man smiled and asked. “I don’t blame you. I loved the tunnels when I was younger. But
that of course was before it became a recognized path to take.”Sometimes I forget how old the baker really is. In my short time here on Earth it has
always been a safe and fun space to make one’s way to various landmarks and locations. I always make new friends there; every time I approach
them and say hello, they’ve been so nice. But however sometimes…. “It used to be a haven for smugglers and conspirators when I was younger.” He
continues. “Of course, that didn’t stop us from occasionally taking them. Now that was a thrill!” The baker chuckles and continues “who am I
kidding, they still exist…. They’re just a little more subtle. Its not like they ran out of places to hide and do their meetings in.” “Believe me, I know” I
want to say but cannot. Not everyone who visits the tunnels are amiable. “I just realized I never took the skywalk beside the expressway.” He
continues without a pause “I heard you can see the whole city from up there. I don’t doubt it. It cuts and curves right through the city sky.”
I once wandered onto the skywalk while on my routine exploration of the city (and also because I was lost) and the view was indeed
enchanting. I take that route often now just to see the city of crossroads from above. The view of the expressway from the ground however, is up
for debate. It curves and spirals around and connects different parts of the city, resembling a large serpent that got stuck among the buildings when
seen from below. Luckily the rapid transit lines run underwater. Otherwise the sky would be a tangled mess. On the bright side, it keeps all the
vehicular movement away from the main structure of the city, allowing its inhabitants, visitors, and critters to stride along easily all while retaining
the cities adventurous charisma.“I think I will take that route on the way home today. I can avoid running into electric poles and such for one and
secondly it will be another way to explore…. never a dull travel in Esmeralda.” He adds. Just as the old man says that, a group passes by chattering
and halt at a cross road a little ahead – one of a plethora in Esmeralda.
“Alright. Left, or right?” asks one. “We already took two lefts and a right. Let’s take the middle one” says another in response. “What’s wrong
with going that way?” asks another pointing to the street below them led by steps. The group goes on to argue for the next couple of minutes
before arriving at a conclusion to take a boat.“It’s nice to see people not use the maps on their phones to help them get around.” the baker says,
smiling. “And most importantly, it’s nice to see people not use the transit system and expressway and just walk instead”
The sun is setting in Esmeralda. The baker gazes beyond the canal into the far-off horizon and says “I’m glad that has not changed. Sure, the
expressway spoils the fabric a little but it is not hurting anyone. The waters are not polluted and the routes have gotten much safer and easier to
walk through – the steps have railings to hold onto and cleaner threads.”I could not care for railings. Shelter however I did care for and luckily the
baker lets me sleep in his little shop during the night. During the day there are loads of spots to nap at.“Still chatting with the stray pup?” asks the
baker’s cashier grinning and walking towards us. She gives me a soft pat on the head. “Save some talk for tomorrow.” Just winding up” responds the
baker. He then turns to me and says “Tomorrow I’ll tell you my thoughts on the view from the skywalk”.I leave the bakery to explore the city at
night with the moonlight cutting through the scene. The yellow lights give warmth to the city and the people roam freely and relaxed. Youngsters
wander around hunting for a place for their next night out. Some sit on the benches and gossip. Some head out for dinner. Everyone is carefree and
cheerful. I walk around for a while, letting it all soak in. Some people like me and I make some new friends. I meet some old friends. Some do not
want to be friends at all.
After the walk I return to the bakery to sleep for the night, dreaming of the new adventures Esmeralda will present tomorrow.

MY BEST HOLIDAY TRIP
ship rocking on the waves. Myself and my friends would run to each-other’s cabins and play. We ate in a large hotel that was inside the ship. We played on the deck, did somersaults, and so many fun activities! In the first day morning, we reached our destination, Minicoy island. We did snorkeling and scuba-diving at Minicoy island. We played kabaddi, throwball, catch-catch, and many other exciting new games. After lunch, we went back to the ship. One of my friend, ‘Amrut’, gifted us coloured pens and riddle books to solve. We all spent our time solving those riddles. It was so much fun!
The next morning, we reached the 2nd island, Kalpeni. We watched their traditional dance and saw how they live. Most of the people there lived in cottages. We sailed in boats and had a lot of fun. We ate delicious dishes made by the Kalpeni citizens and set off back to the ship.
Then the next day, we reached the last island, Kavaratti.(That was our ship’s name too!)The people there welcomed us with coconut water as a welcome drink. My friends and I collected so many shells and corals, that our bags were full. We all sat in a glass boat, where we watched the coral reefs and different types of fish. We enjoyed a lot riding on motorboats. Some of us went to the lighthouse. I was really surprised to hear that it had a thousand steps! My parents and I visited an oil factory and clicked many pictures! The elders did scuba diving and we kids did snorkeling. After the delicious lunch, we danced on music and watched all the amazing videos of our trip. After many hours, we went to the deck of the ship and saw dolphins and whales. It was such a beautiful sight!
Then after some time, we departed from the ship and stayed in a hotel at Kochi. We played, laughed, joked and played a frisbee match. At night, we took a train and came back to Bengaluru. As I had expected, this was my best holiday trip ever! -KIMAYA WAGH, 5E
I went to Lakshadweep for a four-day trip in December 2015. I went with my parents, friends and their parents. We had decided to go to three islands called Minicoy, Kalpeni & Kavaratti. Imagination
One bright evening, I and my mother, were
taking a walk in the garden. It was the 10th day
before new moon. I asked my mother, “Mama,
why is the moon not looking circular today?”.
Mama thought about the answer, “Sukriti” she
replied, “The moon has different phases. The
phases take 15 days to complete and then you
will see the full moon. Today is only the 10th
day. There are yet another 5 days to go for the
full moon.”But I was not convinced with the
reply. “Mama, why does it take 15 days? What
will happen after 15 days?” Mama told; we will
do a small exercise at home.
At home, Mama brought a packets of OREO
cookies and placed 30 cookies on a plate to
represent and explain the lunar phases. I was
very happy to see so many OREO cookies. They
were after all my favorite. I was staring
longingly at the delectable OREO cookies and
waiting for my mother to finish her lecture. So
that I can grab few from the plate. When My
mother asked, “Sukriti what is your story on
lunar phases?”
As per my version -
Moon comes with so many emotions on it’s
face every evening. Sometimes it is happy and
sometimes it is sad. Itis happy for 15 days, plays
around with stars and when it is unhappy, it
hides it’s face for next 15 days. After that Moon
wakes up with a smiling face for the next 15
days.Inarrated the lunar phases from happy
moon to unhappy moon because I see the 30
OREO cookies with few smiling faces and sad
faces. It was my imagination, my idea and my
way of exploring the lunar phasesfrom the set
of OREO Cookies, which were there on the
plates.
Moral: Imagination shapes the way we see our
reality. We should build our own imagination
and explore.

HOW JAM WAS MADE?
Jams are an everyday item now these days, with different flavours and different tastes. But I always imagined how jams were made.
Let’s trace back the time….
In the year 1903, a baker named Mrs white started a new bakery in Chester, near London. It was a great hit. Many desserts like sticky coffee puddings, breads, cheesecakes, pies, jellies and many more were made and the bakery was always crowded with people.
One day, Mrs white decide to make her favourite, freshly baked biscuits with hot and delicious strawberry syrup. She made the batter, put the biscuit batter into the mould and kept it in the oven to bake. She also kept the syrup to boil and she was very excited about her biscuits and hopped about back to the bakery. The long queue and many customers, made her forget her about her biscuits. Afterwards she got the smell of burned biscuits, she hurried back to the kitchen. To her disappointment she found her biscuits burned.
As she went to the stove, she found her syrup like jelly. Then she remembered that instead of adding sugar, she added gelatine. She added sugar and found that the jelly was delicious. She named after her mother-Jenny`s appealing mix.
She not only made strawberry jam, but also made all kinds. - Gowri Niranjana, VIII B
A trip to Wayanad
During my summer vacation, I had visited Wayanad district in the state of Kerala. It
is a hill station with lush green forest and lot of water bodies. It was a four days trip.
On day one, after starting from Bengaluru, we halted at Mysore. The road from
Mysore to Wayanad passes through the Bandipur forest reserve. While passing
through the forest, we saw an elephant, a bear, herd of wild buffaloes, cows and
sheep. Finally, we reached Wayanad in the afternoon.
In Wayanad, we stayed at Karapuzha village resort which is next to the Karapuzha
lake. After a brief stay at the resort, we visited Karapuzha dam and garden, which was
very near to our resort.
On day three, we visited Banasura Sagar dam, Karlad lake, Lakkidi view point. I had an
amazing speed boat ride at Banasura Sagar dam and zipline over Karlad lake. The view
of the valley from Lakkidi view point was very beautiful. It was very cold and the
entire valley was covered in clouds. After return to my resort, we enjoyed the camp-
fire and the dance programme organized at the resort.
On day four, we started our journey back to Bengaluru. It was a wonderful journey
with new learning and wonderful experiences.
