Welcome to the 2019/20 season of AIR in G’s
community touring programme full of exciting
events coming to village halls across the county
during Autumn 2019 and Spring 2020. Over the
years, audiences have come to recognise that
an AIR in G event in their local hall guarantees
artists of the highest calibre working across a
rich mix of genres.
This season we are delighted to be able to offer another great selection
of diverse performances. Some, like ShooShooBaby and Spitz & Co.
make a welcome return after several years away but this year’s line-up
also contains some wonderful new artists who we are sure will appeal;
look out for the amazing Lost Dog with their production ‘Juliet and
Romeo’ or ‘She’Koyokh’ playing tunes from Romanian mountains,
Serbian villages and Bulgarian festivals … not forgetting the occasional
Turkish Sauna.
Please check out all the highly affordable AIR in G performances
taking place at a venue near you. They offer a great chance to get
together with friends and neighbours for an evening that’s sure to
captivate and delight.

The ‘effortlessly funny’ ShooShooBaby, have been
appreciated by audiences all
over the world, earning them
a reputation for their excellent
singing and musicianship.
Expect water-tight harmonising
on a wonderful array of razor-
sharp original cabaret songs,
alongside music by Queen,
Louis Prima, Ennio Morricone
and The Proclaimers. The musical saw, zither, harmonium
and the kazoo are just a few of
the instruments that feature in
this eclectic and abundantly
creative show. ShooShooBaby
have sung on ice, jumped
out of cakes and performed
internationally in theatres, concert halls, spiegeltents
and cruise ships. Among their
fans: Stephen Fry and Sir Ian
McKellen.

Deep in an enchanted forest,
everybody’s looking for something to eat. A tasty treat,
a sticky sweet, some children’s
feet? Hansel and Gretel are lost,
searching for a way home, only
to find themselves on the menu
of a sweet-toothed witch. Goody
and Storey, and Norwich Puppet
Theatre, present a colourful
retelling of the classic Grimms’
fairy tale serving up a feast
of delicious music, dynamic
scenery and knock-your-socks-
off puppetry. A show to tickle
your eyes, your ears, and your

Lost Dog reveals the real story of Romeo and Juliet:
they didn’t die in a tragic misunderstanding, they grew
up and lived happily ever after.
Now 40ish, at least one of them
is in the grips of a mid-life crisis,
constantly mocked by their
teenage selves. Haunted by the
pressures of being the poster
couple for romantic love they
confront their current struggles
by putting on a performance
– about themselves. With Lost
Dog’s blend of dance, theatre
and comedy this stunning
duet takes on a humorous and
heartfelt investigation into love,
loss and longevity.

the Middle East. Rejoice in the

flicking, needles clicking and

She’Koyokh is a Yiddish word meaning ‘nice one!’. The band features vocals, clarinet, violin, guitar,
accordion, double bass and
percussion with members
from Turkey, the Balkans and the UK playing tunes from Romanian mountains,
Serbian villages, Bulgarian
festivals and even Turkish saunas. Each song tells a story and are introduced to give the audience insight, meaning and perspective. Rooted in the music is the tradition of dancing, and
a line dance around the hall is expected – if there’s
space! The show is for all ages, interactive, informative,

One performer. Seven characters. 500+ light and
sound cues. No technician.
Using touch sensitive props and
innovative lighting, the entire
show hinges on one man and
some rather fantastic ‘tech’. Brave

uncover the further misdeeds of
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Set in the
gothic world of cobbled streets

Bard Of Avon himself. Howl at
their Hamlet, roar at their Romeo

Years after Isabella Beeton’s
death, Bessie Mayson muses
on the fate of her big sister.
They were the eldest of 21
children, brought up in the

fell for charming publisher, Sam
