Kate is a first year student at the university of Canberra. Kate was confident when starting uni because she always received decent grades at college, but once starting her first year she is finding it hard to complete as-
sessments. She is receiving lower marks than she thought she would and is unsure about the quality of work she needs to produce, due to the lack of feedback during assessments. Kate is thinking about dropping out for this
year and trying again next year. She feels that if she had more support in her units this could be avoided.

Irina is studying Education as first year student at the university of Canberra. Irina has moved to Australia to study, leaving her family and friends behind. Irina was excited to start her first year of university but soon found
out that dealing with a language barrier and finding a job is harder than she thought it was going to be. Irina is nervous to ask questions during tutorials, resulting in her being confused and unable to confidently submit
assessments. With extra support that is tailored to her individual needs Irina feels she would be more confident asking questions in tutorials, therefor understanding and being able to confidently submit assignments.

Richard is a hard-working/determined student but lacks confidences in his study routine and feels he has lack of time to communicate with his teachers when needed. Richard is dealing with part time work and
trying to move out of home and feels that he is not understanding and completing assessments to the best of his abilities due to the pressure and lack of communication. With more comunication Richard feels it would lower
the pressure on him to understand and complete assesments.
