ROTARACT CLUB ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2018 –2019
BLAZE - Installation
Rotaract Club Installation was held on 31st July 2018. New members took
charge for the academic year 2018 – 2019 with the Chief Guest, RTN.
ELANCHERAN, Alternative Medicine Practitioner. Notable rotaractors from various
clubs of Rotary International District 3232 attended the function and made it a
memorable day by sharing their views with young rotaractors.
NIRAM YETTRAL – Conducted Drawing Competition
On 15th August 2018, the rotaractors conducted drawing competition for the
primary students in Government school.
LEAD OFF – Club Orientation
On 25th September, 2018, an Orientation program for green rotaractors was organised.
The speaker of the day was DISTRICT ROTARACT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN
PDRR.SOLOMON VICTOR . More than 300 students took part in it.
FOOD 42 – Food Wastage Awareness Program
On 25th September 2018, food wastage awareness program was conducted at
our college Auditorium. Mr .Paul, Founder of Goodness Foundation addressed 350
students along with rotaractors.
PUNNAGAI – Distributed Drawing Books
On 9th September 2018, rotaractors gave drawing book and snacks for people
with low IQ at HOPE PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST HOME.
BLAST – Hosted District Cultural Event
On 2nd September, 2018, they hosted a grand cultural event along with
District Rotaract Council. A Cultural for the cause of setting Libraries in Government
Schools.
GLITZZ’18 – Hosted Cultural Event
On 16th September 2018, along with Rotaract Club of Chennai and 13 other
clubs, a grand cultural event was hosted for the cause of building toilets. This was
achieved by constructing toilets in the GOVERNMENT SCHOOL at Somangalam.
IRAIVI – Awareness program of Safe And Unsafe Touch
On 12th October 2018, along with Rotaract club of East Cost and 14 other
clubs conducted a “Safe touch and Unsafe touch” awareness program to the children
between the grade of 6th to 9th standard in THANDURAI GOVERNMENT HIGHER
SECONDARY SCHOOL. More than 85 students were benefitted.
DHEEBA THIRU OLEE – Celebrated Diwali with Blind Children
On 28th October 2018, on the occasion Diwali we celebrated Diwali with 210
visually challenged peoples by bursting crackers and distributing sweets in
Government School for Blind at Poonamalle.
MAZHALAI – Distributed Study and Writing Materials
On 21st November, 2018, On behalf of Children's day, rotaractors conducted
games and distributed rhymes books for the blooming kids in Play school at
Kannadapalayam.
UDHAVUM KARANGAL – Sent Relief Materials to people affected by Gaja Cyclone
On 6th and 7th of December, 2018 rotaract students collected relief materials
from various department worth of Rupees 2 lakhs and sent it to the people affected by
Gaja Cyclone.
ARAM SEI – taking classes for the school students
From 3rd December 2018 our rotaractors took initiative and provided guidance
to the students of Municipal School, Korattur who suffers from scarcity of teachers.
Our club members took class for those students of 10th standard till their Board
Examination.
THE 9TH OCEANUS – Hosted Cultural Event
On 27th January 2019, along with Rotaract Club of Vishwahita and 12 other
clubs hosted a cultural event at Montfort Auditorium, Santhome Higher Secondary
School to run a school for visually challenged children in Senji village,
Thiruvannamalai
NEEROTTAM – Awareness program for save water
On 27th January 2019, our rotaractors took part in rally along with the faculty
co-ordinators to create awareness to save water and avoid plastics.The theme of the
rally was RUN FOR WATER.
PATTALI – Distributed Glows and Masks
On 24th February 2018, we distributed glows and masks to the garbage
collectors in Avadi.
NESAVU – Distributed Cloth Bags to our Surroundings
On the account of Women’s Day, we distributed cloth bags to our mothers and neighbours in
the vision of converting them to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags.
PEACE BLOOMERS – Formed Human Chain in Symbol of Peace
On the account of World Rotaract week, we formed the symbol of peace with
school students, around 350 members from Government Girls Higher Secondary School
participated in this event. The pattern of this formation symbolizes the Rotary’s 6 Area focus,
PEACE, CONFLICT PREVENTION and RESOLUTION.
VIZHITHIDU – Awareness program for preventing diseases
An awareness to the school students was conducted to prevent themselves from the
diseases prevailing in summer, in order of Rotary’s Six Area Focus, DISEASE
PREVENTION and TREATMENT.
SUPPORTED ROTARY EVENTS
CHENNAI YIL ORU NAAL PASI ILLAI – distributed food packets to road side
people
On 16th October 2018, our rotaractors brought food packets from their houses
and distributed to the needy peoples in nearby locality, To make them free from
hunger for one day.
POLIO AWARENESS – Campaigned for polio
On 24th October 2018, for World Polio Day, We joint hands with DISTRICT
ROTARACT COUNCIL to support ROTARY in the way of campaigning near
Valluvarkottam signals and delivered the message to public that India had been
announced POLIO FREE, by the great work of ROTARY ORGANISATION.
