LSC SOCCERAngelo State leads the Lone Star Conference standings with seven points (2-0-1). The Rambelles have not allowed a goal in the last six games and not in the past 661 minutes of play. Leagueplaycarriesonwithfivegamesthisweekalongwithnon-conferenceaction. EachofthesixLSCteams will play the other twice during the regular season, with the results of those contests to be used in determining the seeds for a four-team postseason conference tournament. The No. 1 seed will host this year’s tournament November 7-9, 2014. The women’s teams are 38-18-7 overall this season. The squads are currently 7-7-3 combined versus RockyMountainAthleticConferenceteams,and13-2againsttheHeartlandConference,whicharetheotherconferences in the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEKOFFENSIVESierra Anderson, Angelo State University, JR, Forward, Wichita Falls, Texas, Wichita Falls HSAndersonliftedtheAngeloStatesoccerteamtoa1-0double-overtimewinoverTexasA&M-CommercelastFriday with a 104th minute golden goal. The junior, who now has 14 goals in her career at ASU, headed the ball inoffacrossfromLoniByerstogivetheRambellesthewinovertheLions.Andersonhasfivegoalsthisseasonand leadstheteamwith27shots.Shehastwogame-winninggoals inher juniorseasonafteraseven-goalsophomoreseasonwhereshewasnamedtotheLSCfirst-teamandwasanall-regionselection.

DEFENSIVEShantel Wittke, Angelo State University, JR, Tucson, Arizona, Sahuaro HSWittkerecordedtwoshutoutsfortheRambelleslastweekendin194minutesofaction.ThejuniorheldA&M-Commerce scoreless for 104 minutes before Sierra Anderson gave ASU a 1-0 win with a golden goal in double-overtime.Wittke thenhad four saves in a 1-0 shutoutwinover TexasWoman’son Sunday to extend theconsecutiveshutoutrunbyASUtosixgames.ShehassixindividualshutoutsforASUwhichhasrecordedeightshutoutsasateam.Wittkehas35saveswitha.921savespercentageanda0.37goalsagainstaverageineightgames and 738 minutes played this season. She has a 7-0-1 record in goal for the Rambelles.
