Provide Appropriate SupportIdentify classes with low use. Low-use classes are not yet on track to completing 80 - 100 Reading lessons by the end of the year. Provide teachers of those classes with appropriate support.
Possible Explanations
Low UseStudents are not completing assigned Reading lessons.
Teacher does not make adequate time for Reading Plus.
Help teacher find time for Reading Plus in his or her weekly schedule.
Teacher and students are not prioritizing the Reading component.
Teachers can remind students to work in the Reading component first whenever they log in.
Require students to complete all assigned Reading lessons.
Enrolled students are no longer using Reading Plus or have left the class.
Remind teacher to unenroll students who are not using the program.
Teacher is not logging in to the Teacher Dashboard to complete weekly monitoring.
Encourage teacher to log in to the Teacher Dashboard at least twice per week to monitor Reading lesson completion.
Students and teacher are not held accountable.
Ask teacher to submit Class Instructional Summary Report every two weeks.
Review Reading Plus during weekly staff meetings.
Computer technology is insufficient or malfunctioning.
Ensure teacher has enough computers to serve all Reading Plus students.
