in a topic word to begin each line. • All the lines of the poem should
tell more about or describe the topic word. • This verse is usually unrhymed.• Acrostic poetry can be about
ANYTHING!!
Here’s an example:
Really wet outsideAlways remember your
umbrellaI love rainy daysNeed my rain boots
Another example…
Sneaking around my basement
Pretty creepy
It is looking for dinner
Down under the stairs building a web
Eyes like beads of glitter
Really gross

different.• The 1st acrostic will be “single words”;
the 2nd acrostic will be “phrases”; the 3rd acrostic will be a
continuous sentence”• Check spelling• Use BIGGER words!
