Dear AAEOP Members, Arkansas Educational
Office Professionals, and Arkansas Educational
Administrators:
2015 has been a wonderful
year for AAEOP so far, and
I fully expect it to get even
better! Arkansas was well-
represented at the NAEOP
conference in Buffalo, NY
in July, and those of us in
attendance came back with
great news and ideas to
share with you.
The AAEOP board and I are diligently working to
produce an outstanding conference scheduled for
November 5-6, 2015, at the Clarion on the Lake
in beautiful Hot Springs, AR. We are hopeful
that our hard work will translate to a sizable
increase in attendance. Conference chairman,
Connie Bergeson, CEOE, has lined up some
awesome workshops and speakers that will be of
tremendous benefit to any EOP in Arkansas:
By popular demand, we will have technology
based workshops that will provide key
information on Google Docs and Google
Apps.
Also new this year is a workshop loaded with
useful information about the Arkansas
Teacher Retirement System, and how to
make the most of your ATRS benefits.
A brief session on PSP, the NAEOP profes-
sional standards certification program,
will be provided by two of AAEOP’s
ultimate authorities on the subject.
2015-2016 NAEOP President, Pat Stelmach,
CEOE, is traveling from Kentucky to
provide our keynote address.
As you can see, this conference will be packed
with useful information, and you can learn more
about the schedule, speakers, registration, and
hotel accommodations on the AAEOP.org
website. You can also download and share the
conference brochure through the following link on:
www.AAEOP.org
http://AAEOP 2015-Conference-Brochure.pdf
As you begin the new school year and your local AEOP
meetings resume, please keep in mind that our
association is designed for you. There is not another
state organization strictly dedicated to providing
networking and professional development opportunities
to office professionals in the field of education. We
want you to take advantage of the opportunities offered
by AAEOP, and to share the benefits and experiences
of AAEOP with your colleagues.
My theme this year has been “AAEOP – The Key to
Our Success”. This theme can easily be turned around
though, because YOU are also the key to success for
AAEOP. Our organization relies on continuous
member growth and participation. With that in mind, I
would like to reiterate the request I made earlier this
year: Please support AAEOP by seeking out and
recruiting new members. Encourage your colleagues to
attend the 2015 AAEOP Annual Conference with you.
When I challenged Arkadelphia AEOP members to
extend invitations earlier this year, we had a fantastic
increase in our local meeting attendance. It’s not hard.
Some people may not participate because they’ve never
been asked, or they’re not sure how it will benefit them.
They may never know if you don’t invite them.
I am so looking forward to seeing you all at the 77th
Annual AAEOP Conference in November! In the
meantime, please feel free to contact me with any
questions, comments, or suggestions you may have.
I can be reached through email at
Wishing you all an awesome new school year!
