Lighting –reflecting Description A found example My example Before / after
• When light is reflected/ bounced of another surface
• The more light bounces, less harsh it is. • Photo with
reflector looks much clearer
• Hides all the shadows
• Girl’s skin looks whiter
• Looks more professional
• White reflector is being used in this picture
• Made the lighting much better and the faces clearer

Shutter speed – motion blur Description A found example My example Before / after
Something blurs because it is in motion (too fast for the shutter)
• Motion blur type 1 : background is blurry
• Motion blur type 2 :Object is blurry
• Umbrella is moving therefore blurred.
• Slow shutter camera
• Motion of umbrella too fast for shutter
• Car moving shows motion blur
• Background still remains clear

Transferring photos to computer Description A found example My example
Ways to transfer pictures from camera onto computer
• Pictures can be transferred to computer using Bluetooth.
• USB can also be used in order to transfer the pictures
• Using a USB cable
• Copy and pasted pictures from camera onto computer
• Green graph showing how long and how many pictures are being transferred at a time.
![Page 6: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Composition- framing Description A found example My example Before / after
How object are placed on the picture, making it look good, comfortable to see • Cat’s head in the
middle of the picture
• Framing is accurate to rule of thirds
• Our focus is on the cat’s face.
• Following rue of thirds
• Person placed right in the middle column
• Whole body is shown

• Fill lighting is often softer than key lighting• It reduces the contrast of a scene
• And it provides some brightness for the areas of the image that are in shadow
LIGHTING – FILL (HOW TO FILL)
![Page 8: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
EXAMPLE I FOUND
A slight shadow on the slight of the face
There is a light from this direction
This direction is the fill lighting
And this direction http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=fill+lighting&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1280&bih=843&tbm=isch&tbnid=esxkSQpnZ_ByEM:&imgrefurl=http://vimeo.com/34756646&docid=DV4UQg7-tjSg1M&imgurl=http://

MY EXAMPLE
I made her stand in a really bright environment where there is a lot of lighting so it can fill in the shadows
The lights at the top can be used as fill lighting
I made her stand under a light to make her look brighter
![Page 10: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
• Shutter speed is how fast or slow you take a photo• If you want to catch a moving object still you will use fast
shutter speed• If you want to catch a moving object with the motion you
use slow shutter speed
SHUTTER SPEED- FAST & SLOW
![Page 11: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
SLOW SHUTTER SPEED
I used an app on the iPad called “slow shutter speed”
I told her to move her hands so I can catch them moving.
![Page 12: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
FAST SHUTTER SPEED
It catches each moment and shows every detail. It catches a photo in its moment.
http://www.digital-photography-tips.net/shutter-speed-creative.html
![Page 13: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
SLOW SHUTTER SPEED
Slow shutter speed shows everything that is moving a big blur. So the cars here are shown just as red lines.
![Page 14: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)

• Composition is when you change the angle of the camera to create a more interesting photo
• Changing the angle of your camera creates a whole new composition
COMPOSITION- CHANGING ANGLE/PERSPECTIVE
![Page 16: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
EXAMPLE I FOUND
The photographer took this photo from a low angle
Creates the illusion that something is actually bigger than it really is
![Page 17: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
MY EXAMPLE
She looks taller than she already is
I crouched down on the floor and held my iPad upwards to take this picture
The picture looks more interesting when the camera is placed on a low angle
![Page 18: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)

Lighting – over exposureExplanation Example image My image Before and after.
• This is when the picture has an excess amount of light.
• when there is this type o lighting you cant see details
• certain areas can go excessively white.
• With this you cant see face shapes usually.
![Page 20: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Lighting – underexposureExplanation Example image My image Before and after.
• Under exposure is when an image is too dark that you cant see details
• sometimes, there can be light on one side but not on the other
• This can be used purposely as well so it can create mystery , just like in film noir movies.
![Page 21: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Lighting – good exposureExplanation Example image My image Before and after.
• This type of lighting allows the view to see al the details of an image.
• It looks comfortable to look at.
• This type of lighting usually doesn’t have a lot of shades on it.
![Page 22: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Deep focusExplanation Example image My image Before and after.
• Deep focus is when the whole image is in focus.
• The front, the middle and the back is sharp and clear.
![Page 23: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Explanation Example image My image Before and after.
Leading lines are lines within an image that leads the eye to another point in the image, or out of the image. Anything with a certain line can be a leading line.
Composition- leading lines.

Lighting – Key – high/low• Key Lighting: The key light is the first and usually most important light that
a photographer, lighting cameraman, or other scene composer will use in a lighting setup. The purpose of the key light is to highlight the form and dimension of the subject.
![Page 25: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)

Shutter speed
Shutter speed: In photography, shutter speed or exposure time is the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open. The total exposure is proportional to this exposure time, or duration of light reaching the film or image sensor.
![Page 28: A2 assignment #14](https://reader038.vdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022102922/54ba56764a7959a0768b48bc/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)

Shallow Focus
Shallow Focus: Shallow focus is a photographic and cinematographic technique incorporating a small depth of field. In shallow focus one plane of the image is in focus while the rest is out of focus.

Rule of third Explanation Online photo My photo
The rule of thirds is a "rule of thumb" or guideline which applies to the process of composing visual images such as paintings, photographs and designs. The guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.
