A conical pendulum is made from a mass of 0.20kg which moves in a circle of radius 0.40m at a constant speed.
The string makes an angle of 30o with the vertical.
Calculate the speed of the mass.
(Assume g = 9.8ms-2)

A cyclist (and cycle) of mass 80kg move around a bend of radius 20m. The tyres can handle a maximum friction force of 250N.
Calculate the maximum speed the cyclist can travel around the bend if: (assume g = 9.8ms-2)
a) the bend is unbanked b) the bend is banked at 25o
