Dura Crete ST
Polymer Modified, Shrinkage Controlled, Cementitious Structural Grade Repair Mortar
AQUASEAL
Description DURA-CRETE ST is a single component, polymer
modified cementitious repair mortar. It is supplied
as a ready to use dry powder that only needs
addition of clean water on site to produce a repair
mortar suitable for hand repairs where significant
load bearing is required. The product is shrinkage
controlled which allows the dimension of repair to
remain stable and thus eliminating repair failure
due to shrinkage cracking as the product dries.
DURA-CRETE ST can be applied in thickness
between 5mm and 100mm depending on
application.
Features Suitable for horizontal, vertical or overhead
repairs
Developed to provide an easy to apply
product that is suited to local conditions
Provides enhanced durability and working
life
Excellent adhesion and shrinkage control
allows repair to be done once
Repair mortar is very compatible with the
host concrete
Uses
DURA-CRETE ST is suitable for application by
hand to most structural and load bearing repairs:
Repairs to areas where formwork cannot
be erected
Patch repairs to concrete floor slabs
Repairs to stairs, steps and other areas
subject to repeated heavy traffic
Arras repairs to joint edges

Method of Use: As a cementitious repair mortar,
the recommended thickness limits for a single
application of DURA-CRETE ST are as follows:
Minimum applied thickness = 5mm
Overhead sections = Up to 25 mm
Vertical sections = Up to 35 mm
Small pockets or horizontal = Upto100 mm
Maximum length = Up to 3 m
If the repair area is greater than 2.5m2, alternatively
the micro-concrete product DURA-CRETE MC
Surface Preparation: The surface that is to receive DURA-CRETE ST
should be sound, clean and free from contaminants,
and all loose particles must be removed. The
concrete surface should be thoroughly soaked with
water prior to the application and if needed, a
suitable bonding agent applied. For filling voids in
the concrete, a putty-like consistency of the
material can be mixed and applied with a trowel.
Mixing & Application: DURA-CRETE ST
should be mixed with clean water to attain the
required consistency. The maximum quantity of
water per 25kg bag is 3.75L. It is advisable to use
an electric drill type mixer and over mixing should
be avoided. DO NOT use part bags or add more
water to the mix as this will affect the performance
of the material.
The mixed material should be applied to the
prepared area with minimum of troweling and then
left to set for a short period before final troweling.
For minor blemishes, apply with a brush or roller
after which the excess material can be scraped off.
Cleaning: Tools and equipment should be cleaned
with water immediately after use before the product
sets. Once firm it will need to be removed by
mechanical means.
Limitations:
Do not use DURA-CRETE ST when the
ambient temperature is below 5°C and falling;
In areas where a substrate/repair barrier is
required, or enhanced bond strength/working
time is needed, or where the substrate is
permanently wet or damp (seawalls, quays,
etc.), then DURA-BOND EP epoxy bonding
agent should be used;
Do not part mix , use only whole bags of
product;
Do not expose to running water either during
application or before the product is set;
Water ponding is not recommended for curing.
Packaging & Storage: DURA-CRETE ST is
available in 25kg bags and has a shelf life of min.
12 months when stored off the ground, undercover
in cool, shaded and dry warehouses, out of direct
sunlight, at temperatures between 2°C and 30°C.
In extreme tropical climate, the product must be
stored in cooled ambience. Excessive humidity and
over exposure to UV may result in reducing shelf
life to as little as 4 months. DURA-CRETE ST is
non-flammable.
Health & Safety: DURA-CRETE ST contains
cement powders which when mixed with water, or
becoming damp, release alkalis which can be
harmful to the skin. Therefore, care should be taken
to avoid contact with skin or eyes, and these
products should not be swallowed. As with all
construction chemical products, caution should
always be exercised. Protective clothing such as
gloves and goggles shall be worn whilst handling
and spraying. Wearing long sleeve overall, safety
shoes and face mask is recommended for maximum
safety. Avoid breathing in the dust or vapors and
use in well ventilated areas, or use a breathing
apparatus in enclosed areas. Reseal all containers
after use and ensure product is stored as instructed
on the safety section of the labeling. If any comes
in contact with the skin it should be removed with
an industrial skin cleanser, followed by soap and
water – DO NOT use solvent. Treat any splashes to
the eyes with fresh water immediately and seek
medical assistance. Should any of the products be
accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomiting,
but call for medical assistance immediately.
Spillages of DURA-CRETE ST should be swept up
and transferred to suitable containers for disposal.
The spill area should then be hosed down with
large quantities of water. The disposal of spilt or
waste material should be carried out in accordance
with local legislation under the guidance of the
local waste regulatory authority.
