1.2 AnalogueBroadcastingWhenyourareaisnotbroadcastingdigitalterrestrialsignals,theTVwillonlyreceiveanaloguechannels.
WhenonafrequencywhereaDVBsignalisbroadcasted,thetunerwilltrytodecodeananalogueTVchannelandhencewillnotshowvideo.

2.1 GeneralDonotinsertthepowerpluginawallsocketorhangtheTVtothewallbeforeallconnectionsaremade.
•PlaceorhangtheTVwhereveryouwant,butmakesurethataircancirculatefreelythroughtheventilationslots.
•DonotinstalltheTVinaconfinedspacesuchasabookcaseorasimilarunit.
•Topreventanyfirehazards,nonakedflamesources,suchaslightedcandles,shouldbeplacedneartheTV.
•Avoidheat,directsunlightandexposuretorainorwater.
2.2 Careofthescreen• Donottouch,pushorruborstrikethe
screenwithanythinghardasthismayscratchordamagethescreenpermanently.
• Donottouchthesurfacewithbarehandsorgreasycloth(somecosmeticsaredetrimentaltothescreen).
• UnplugtheTVbeforecleaningthescreen.• When the surface becomes dusty wipe gentlyWhenthesurfacebecomesdustywipegently
withabsorbentcottonorothersoftmateriallikechamoissoaks.
• Do not remove the protective sheet until youDonotremovetheprotectivesheetuntilyouhavecompletedthestand/wallmountingandconnections.Pleasehandlewithcare.
• Use only soft cloth provided to clean theUseonlysoftclothprovidedtocleantheglossyblackfrontoftheTV.
• Wipeoffwaterdropletsassoonaspossible.Theirlongtimecontactwiththescreencausesdeformationsandcolourfading.
2.3 StationaryimagesontheTVAcharacteristicofLCDandPlasmaPanelsisthatdisplayingthesameimageforalongtimecancauseapermanentafter-imagetoremainonthescreen.Thisiscalledphosphorburnin.NormaluseoftheTVshouldinvolvetheshowingofpicturesthatcontainconstantlymovingandchangingimagesthatfillthescreen.Examplesofstationaryimages(thisisnotan
all-inclusivelist,youmayencounterothersinyourviewing):•TVandDVDmenus:listingsofDVDdiskcontent;•Blackbars:whenblackbarsappearat
theleftandrightsideofthescreen,itisrecommendedtochangetoapictureformatsothatthepicturefillstheentirescreen;
•TVchannellogo:presentaproblemiftheyarebrightandstationary.Movingorlow-contrastgraphicsarelesslikelytocauseunevenagingofthescreen;
•Stockmarketstickers:presentedatthebottomoftheTVscreen;
•Shoppingchannellogosandpricingdisplays:brightandshownconstantlyorrepeatedlyinthesamelocationontheTVscreen.
Examplesofstillpicturesalsoincludelogos,computerimages,timedisplay,teletextandimagesdisplayedin4:3mode,staticimagesorcharacters,etc.

WarningDisconnectallpowersourcesbeforemakinganyconnections.
TipItispreferabletoconnectperipheralswithRGBoutputtoExT1orExT2asRGBprovidesabetterpicturequality.

3.4 KeysatthesideoftheTVIncaseyourremotecontrolislostorbroken,apartfromchannelselectionandvolumeadjustment,youcanstillchangesomeofthebasicsettingswiththekeysatthesideofyourTV.
• PressthepowerswitchBtoswitchtheTVonoroff.
TheMENUkeycanbeusedtocalluptheTVmenuwithouttheremotecontrol.
• Use: - theVOLUME-and+keysandthe PROGRAM-and+keystoselectmenu
items; - theMENUkeytoconfirmyourselection.
InsertaCAmodule InsertthespecifiedConditionalAccess
moduleintotheCommonInterfaceslotasfarasitwillgo.ItmaytakeafewminutesbeforetheCAmoduleisactivatedandserviceinformationisdownloaded.
Warning WhenyouconnecttheCAmoduleincorrectly,itmaydamagethecardandtheTV.Afterinsertingacard,leaveitintheslotpermanently.Donotremoveitfromtheslotunlessaskedtodoso.Forexample,yourcardhastobeintheslotwhenyourCIservicebroadcasterwantstodownloadnewinformationtothesmartcard.OncetheCAmoduleisremoved,yourTVwillnolongerdecodescrambleddigitalDVB-Tchannels.

4.4 Switch on the TV
1 Press the power switch B at the side of
the TV.
An indicator on the front of the TV lights up
and the screen comes on.
2 If the TV is in standby mode, press the -P+
keys or the B key on the remote control.
4.5 First time installation
The installation procedure consists of a series
of screens that will guide you through the
installation of your TV.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Note If the TV has already been installed before and/
or you want to change the First time installation
settings, proceed with Use of the 'TV menu
settings', p. 15.
4.2 Connect the mains
1 Insert the mains cord supplied into the
mains at the bottom of the TV and in the
wall socket.
Warning Verify that the mains supply voltage corresponds
to the voltage printed on the sticker at the rear
of the TV.

1 Insert the aerial plug fi rmly into the aerial
socket x at the bottom of the TV.
