MAY 15, 2011| FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

2 | Welcome to Holy Cross Parish · Kaukauna, WI Summer is coming
Here we are in the middle of May. Although our weather looks more like April with all the clouds and the rain, we have high hopes that the sun will even-tually come out and we will enjoy summer. Many parishioners have already been to their cottages and have opened them up. Some of have booked their campsites for that camping get away. Everyone seems to be preparing to relax and have a vacation. It is good to enjoy some leisure time. I have some reminders for summer. First, I would encourage you to visit our new website. It is at the same web ad-dress, but the site is new. There is a link on the site to help you find Churches. This means that no mat-ter where you travel you will be able to go to Mass. It is always fun to visit new Catholic Churches. Also, while you are away our parish still needs your sup-port. I would ask you to either mail in your envelope or you could call the office to set up an automatic withdrawal, automatic withdrawal is becoming much more common. Next, if you are away on a weekend that you are scheduled to help with a liturgical minis-try I would ask you to try to find a substitute. If you have never been trained as a Eucharistic minister or a Lector and you will be home over the summer it would be great to have some new people help over the summer. Lastly, when you are away I ask you to pray for your parish, and we will also pray for you and safe travels for your family. It is almost sum-mer. I hope you have fun.

FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI
Holy Cross Parish is planning a special Mass and pro-
cession for the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday,
June 26, 2011 at the 11:00 am Mass. We are forming
a special choir to lead the music that day. Our focus
will be on the more historical and traditional styles of
Church music. An invitation is extended to anyone
interested to join the choir for this special event. Mu-
sic will be available to pick up at that time. Last
year’s Corpus Christi Mass and procession was a great
success, and we are looking forward to it again this
year. Contact Todd Senzig at 766-3773 for more in-
formation.
2011 Bishop’s Appeal
This spring we began our annual Bishop’s Appeal.
The diocese will soon be closing out the appeal for this
year. If you have not sent in your pledge form for the
appeal, I would encourage you to do this as soon as
possible. Your generosity helps our parish very much.
If you have misplaced your pledge card, please contact
the office and we will get you another one. Thank
you for your generosity.

Appreciation Evening,
Wednesday May 11th was an evening to celebrate the wonderful volunteers in the Faith Formation Pro-
gram. All volunteers gathered in the Faith Formation Center for a meal and to share stories from the past
year. The program has a total of forty nine volunteers who assist in many area’s which include office help,
catechist, catechist assistance and cleaning. Holy Cross is truly blessed to have such willing volunteers
who dedicate their time to benefit the Faith Formation Program. We THANK each and everyone of them
for all they do.

24 Hour FOOD FAST for our Youth - April 22-23,
2011
The Food Fast was an awesome experience! God
definitely blessed our time together. 35 youth from
area parishes joined the fast. They learned about pov-
erty and people who are suffering in the world. They
did some cleaning for our parish and put on an amaz-
ing Prayer Service for the community. It was very
inspiring! We also raised $1,100 for Catholic Relief
Services. Our youth are an awesome part of our par-
ish. Thank you for keeping them in your prayers and
supporting them.
