willnotbeadmittedtothecollegeoraprogramatNHTI.
Readmission Whenapplyingforreadmission,studentsmustmeetcurrententrance
requirementsforthedesiredprogram.Uponreadmission,studentswillfollowthecurriculumpublishedinthecurrentcatalogue.However,anycommoncourseswillbecarriedforwardandeveryattemptwillbemadetomakeappropriatesubstitutionswhenpreviouscourseshavebeenreplacedwithupdatedones. Inordertoapproveasubstitution,theDepartmentHeadwillmakearecommendationtotheVicePresidentofAcademicAf-fairs,whowillmakethefinaldecision.

Academic Amnesty AstudentwhohaspreviouslyattendedNHTIandisadmittedata
latertimemaybeeligibleforAcademicAmnestywhichprovidesforthefollowing:
1. Allgradestakenduringthestudent’sprevioustimeatNHTIwillnolongerbeusedtocalculatethestudent’snewcumulativeGPA.However,gradesC-andabovetakenduringthestudent’sprevious
timeatNHTIwillbeusedtomeetcourserequirements(whereap-propriate).
2. EventhoughpreviousgradeswillnotbeusedtocalculatethenewcumulativeGPA,allpreviousgradeswillremainonthestudent’stranscript.
InordertobeeligibleforAcademicAmnestyastudentmustmeetallofthefollowingconditions:
1. ThestudenthasnottakenanycoursesatNHTIforaperiodofatleast3yearsfromthelastsemesterofattendance.
2. ThestudentappliesforAcademicAmnestybeforethestartofhis/hersecondsemesterafterreadmission.
3. ThestudenthasneverbeforereceivedAcademicAmnesty.

Transferring to NHTI StudentsrequestingtransfertoNHTIshouldsubmitalldocuments

In addition, official transcripts frompostsecondaryinstitutionsattendedareneededtoevaluatetransfercredit.Awardingoftransfercreditsisbasedonthefollowing:1. Onlythosecoursesrequiredinthedesiredprogramwillbeconsidered;2. Courses must be equivalent in content and credit hours to those

TermsofAgreement
This agreement is for a period of (a) one academic year, both Falland Spring Semesters; (b) only the Spring Semester; or (c) theSummersession,foraperiodequaltothedurationofthestudent’ssummercourses.Housingaccommodationsarenotprovidedduring

NHTIvacationperiods.ExceptwithpermissionoftheResidenceLifeDirector,housingservicesincludingaccesstotheroombeginonthedesignatedResidenceHallopeningdayandendby7:00pmafterastudent’slastfinalexamorcancellationofthisAgreement.Graduation,officialwithdrawalfromNHTI,academicdismissalorsuspensionfromNHTI, or mutual consent of the parties constitutes the only basisforreleasefromthisAgreement.TherearenorefundsforDismissalorSuspensionfromhousingduetostudentconductviolations.Ifahousingrenewalisnotextendedtoareturningstudentorifareturningstudentisexcludedfromthesecondsemesteroftheacademicyear,theresultwillbecancellationoftheagreementandchargesassessedbasedontherefundschedule.StudentsresidingatNHTIandenrolledatanothercollegearesubjecttothesametermsofagreement,payment,termination,andrefundscheduleasNHTIstudents.
II.
Payment/Cancellation/RefundHousing
NHTI will establish housing fees yearly and will announce theseproposedfeesforeachacademicyear.Uponnonpaymentofanyfeesor any charges herein provided, NHTI may refuse to register thestudentforthenextsemester,issuetranscript,orallowthestudenttobegraduated.Inordertoensurethataccommodationsareavailabletostudentswishingtoliveoncampus,NHTIwillrefundtothestudenthis/herhousingfeeatthefollowingrates.Subsequenttooccupancy,noreleasefromthisAgreementorrefundcanbeprovidedunlesstheassignedroomisleftcleanandallsign-outproceduresincludingreturnofkeysandsettlementofobligationsarecompleted.Effectivedateofreleasewillbedeterminedbythedateofsuchcompletion.Allstudentsintendingtoreservea space inNHTIhousingmustpayahousingdeposit.Semesterpayment(less“estimated”financialaid–seePaymentofTuitionandFees,Page11)isduethreeweekspriortothefirstclassdayofthesemester.
III.
AcademicYearResidenceHallRefundSchedule
A. Provisions
1. If the housing agreement is cancelled, any amount ofhousingrefundduetoastudentwillfirstbeappliedtosaidstudent’scurrentNHTItuitionandfeesoutstandingbal-ance.
2. If byFridayof thefirstweekof classes asdesignatedbyResidenceHall openingday for anyhousing session thestudentfailstooccupytheassignedroom,orcancelstheagreementbymutualconsent,orforanyofthereasonsintheTermsofAgreementiscanceled,thestudentreceivesan80%refundofthesemester’shousingfee.
3. CancellationforanyofthereasonsintheTermsofAgree-mentorbymutualconsentafterFridayofthefirstweekofclassesasdesignatedbyResidenceHallopeningdayandbeforethefifthweekaftertheopeningdaywillresultina50%refundofthesemester’shousingfee.
4. CancellationoftheAgreementforanyofthereasonsintheTermsofAgreement,orbymutualconsentuptothetenthweekafterdesignatedResidenceHallopeningdaywillresultina25%refundofthehousingfee.
5. CancellationoftheAgreementforanyofthereasonsintheTermsofAgreement,orbymutualconsentafterthetenthweekafterdesignatedResidenceHallopeningdaywillresultinnorefundofthehousingfee.
6. Studentswho“CheckIn”ormoveintoaResidenceHall,moveoutwithoutconsentoftheResidenceLifeDepart-ment,anddonotwithdrawfromNHTI,arechargedthefullhousingfee.
B
SemesterIIResidenceHallRefundSchedule
1. Ifastudentsignedafullacademicyearhousingcontract,
requestforearlyterminationofthisagreementattheendofFallSemestercanbeconsideredonlyifreceivedinwritingbytheResidenceLifeDepartmentbeforethesecondFridayofJanuarysubjecttotheTermsofAgreementandResidenceHallRefundSchedule.
2. IfthestudentisnotenrolledatNHTIfortheSpringSe-mester,andrequestedterminationofthehousingcontractbythesecondFridayofJanuary,thestudentwillbereleasedfromtheagreementandnotresponsibleforSpringsemestercharges.
3. IftheresidentisenrolledatanotherCollegeorUniversityfortheSpringSemesterwhileresidingatNHTI,theywillbesubjecttorefundsbasedonIII:A(above)oftherefundschedule.
C.
SummerSessionResidenceHallRefundschedule
1. Requestforearlyterminationofthisagreementbeforethe
startoftheSummersessioncanbeconsideredonlyifre-ceivedinwritingbytheResidenceLifeDepartmentbeforetheFridayofthestartofthesummersession.
2. IfbyFridayofthefirstweekofclassesthestudentfailstooc-cupytheassignedroomorcancelstheagreementbymutualconsentforanyofthereasonsinthetermsofagreement,theagreementiscancelledandthestudentreceivesan80%refundoftheSummersessionhousingfee.
3. CancellationforanyofthereasonsinTermsofAgreementormutual consent after theFridayof thefirstweekwillresultinnorefundofthehousingfees.
Boardrefundsmaybepro-ratedfortheremainderofthesemesterwhenaresidentstudentofficiallywithdrawsfromResidenceLifeorNHTI.Suchproratedrefundswillbecomputedonaweeklybasisfromthefirstdayoftheweekfollowingwithdrawal.
New Hampshire Residency Status InordertoqualifyforNewHampshireresidenttuitionrates,astu-
dentmusthavebeenalegalresidentofthestateforaminimumoftwelveconsecutivemonthsimmediatelyprecedingthestudent’sNHTIenrollmentdate(firstdayofclasses).
StudentswhochangelegalresidencetoNewHampshireduringtheirstudiesatNHTImuststillbelegalresidentsofNewHampshirefortwelvemonthspriortobeingeligibleforresidentrates.Changeofaddressdoesnotnecessarilyconstitutechangeoflegalresidence.
Inordertobegintheprocessofeligibility,studentsmustprovidetheAdmissionsOfficewithproofofresidency,suchasanotarizedstatementorrentreceipts,thataccuratelyreflectstheeffectivedateofresidency.ANewHampshiredriver’slicenseisnotsufficientproofoflegalresidencystatus.
New England Regional Student Program (NERSP) TheNewEnglandRegionalStudentProgramenablesaresidentofa
NewEnglandstatetoenrollinapubliccollegeoruniversityinthesixstateregionat50%abovein-statetuitionforcertaindegreeprogramsif:1. Theprogramisnotavailableinthehome-statepubliccollege;2. Theout-of-state,publicinstitutionisnearertothestudent’sresidence
thanthein-stateinstitutionthatoffersasimilarcertificate,diplomaorassociatedegreeprogram.
