We have many things to look forward to this year....the new pool renovation, new concerts including Scott, Rob & Greg of The Clarks, and the Zelie On Tap Beer Fest is coming back in October. This is going to be a great summer with all of our new and returning events. We have a phenomenal concert line up all season from May to October. Our amphitheater is a hidden gem that more people need to be aware of....please help us to spread the word and invite friends, family or neighbors along with you. Just like I mentioned last year....we are getting a NEW pool!!! I could not be more thrilled. Check out page 4 for more details on how to get involved. This is a huge undertaking and we need as much town support as possible. Our beautiful Park could not thrive as it has for the last few years without the support of all of our local groups, members, visitors, and families. For example, the Rotary has graciously donated a new bay of swings to add to our playground and safety mats under each of the slides. Thank you, Rotary! And the CVCC has graciously donated $20,125.00 that we are using to renovate Shelter #3. Our amazing 4th of July Parade, celebration and fireworks will be here in three months. Any sponsor or donor that would like to help with our 2016 display would be greatly appreciated as the cost rose again a great amount. We have a brand new website launched and please check it out. It is full of information that is easy to read and follow. It is the same as before, just a new look: www.myzeliepark.org I am always open to suggestions, so please feel free to contact me anytime. Alecia Flood, Park Manager, Parks and Rec Director [email protected]
After nearly sixty years of continuous service, the Zelienople Community Park swimming pool is fast approaching the end of its useful lifespan. Our campaign is working to raise funds to replace the current pool as well as to upgrade the bathhouse and surrounding green space area. View conceptual drawings at www.myzeliepark.org.
The Zelienople Borough, the Park Board and a group of community volunteers are happy to announce progress that has been made this year in our new pool construction campaign.
We have been awarded a $700,000 grant from The Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. Thomas R. Murray, a lifelong community resident, business leader and beloved park supporter has generously donated $100,000 towards the fundraising initiative. The Zelienople Borough Council has committed financial support and is providing assistance in the selection of firms to begin the design and final planning phases of work. The fundraising committee has begun to reach out to community businesses and individuals for support. Watch for upcoming events by logging onto our website or following us on Facebook and Twitter. March Madness fundraiser was a big success. Thanks to all who jumped into the pool!
Zelienople is widely known for its community spirit and wonderful small town atmosphere. This is a place where everyone pulls together and supports their friends and neighbors. It is important for us to support the kind of infrastructure that has made this town so special through the years. There will be any number of ways that you can help to make this project successful and we are counting on everyone’s help and support. No donation is too small and any amount of talent or time that you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you to our 2015-2016 Donors

BUY A BRICK!
HELP WITH THE NE W POOL CONSTRUCTION!
The Zelienople Community Park plays an important role in the health and
wellness of our residents and surrounding neighbors. It’s time to say
“Goodbye” to our pool after 60 years, and welcome a new state of the art
pool with updated bathhouse and greenspace areas. This community gem
depends on generous donors to continue its mission. “One Brick at a
Time” campaign represents an investment in the Zelienople Community
Park and the new pool facility. Friends of the park will have the
opportunity to purchase an engraved brick for the walkway to the new
pool. Buy a brick for someone to commemorate special occasions, to
honor or remember a special loved one, or to exemplify a friendship or
accomplishment. Clubs, organizations, and businesses can also purchase
a brick to honor their members. Each brick paver is laser-engraved for
durability and features a lifetime warranty. Your support of the Zelie Park
will be everlasting!
Two sizes of bricks are available:
Purchase a 4 x 6 brick for a contribution of $125.00
Purchase an 8 x 8 brick for a contribution of $500.00

WORKOUT PARK!!
Summer is approaching fast and we are looking for help to get the new Zelie workout park built. We are building a workout park in the Zelie Community
Park with hopes of opening the summer of 2016. We are still looking for donations to make this possible. Any donation of $500 or more will get a permanent plaque on the bars with the donor’s name or business name. This project’s purpose is to give our community a safe, free and friendly
environment to workout outside. The workout park will consist of different level pull up bars and dip bars which can be used for an endless number of workouts. My name is Matt White. I am heading the project in efforts to
make our community healthier and stronger. I am a certified I.S.S.A. personal trainer who focuses in body movement. I will be holding free
classes once the park is built for the community. Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated and every dollar goes straight to the park. Thank
you for all your help.

March Ski and Snowboard Park Trip
DATE TBA
The Zelie Parks & Rec is planning our second annual family SKI and SNOWBOARD trip. The bus will leave the Zelie Park Parking Lot. This family trip will consist of a chartered coach bus, day lift ticket, and rentals/lessons (if needed). In order to keep our costs down, we will need to fill the bus. Up to 55 seats. Depending on
the number of people on the bus, we will divide the cost evenly. The only thing that you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie. This trip will be on a first come first serve basis. The more people we have, the cheaper the bus will be. So, spread the word…… the more the merrier!!! In
order to make the bus affordable, there is a 40 person minimum for the trip. If we do not get enough people, we will have to cancel this trip. Check our website in the future for further details.

TREE OF LIFE
A community park is central to most small towns in
America. It is where we take a walk in the fall, sleigh ride in
the winter, play ball in the spring and enjoy the pool in the
summer.
Most importantly it is where family, friends and
communities cherish memories.
In honor of these memories, the Friends of the Park is
sponsoring The Tree of Life to support the Zelienople
Community Park.
Tree of Life Donations are:
$500.00 for Gold Tree Leaf
$250.00 for Silver Tree Leaf
$150.00 for Bronze Tree Leaf
For questions call or email Tracy Devlin at (724) 584-0246 or
New events are being added throughout the summer. Be sure to visit www.myzeliepark.org for all of the latest
