Wednesday 2ND September 2015 • The Chubb Insurance Tour D’elégance
A Warm Welcome to our 4thChubb Insurance Tour D’elégance
Open only to Concours entrants, the Steering committee and Concours Judges,
The Chubb Insurance Tour d’Elégance returns for the fourth consecutive year,
bigger and better than ever before. Starting at The Royal Automobile Club
for breakfast and the chance to say hello to fellow drivers, co-pilots and their
vehicles alike. The Tour will then depart for a 3hr drive to our host hotel, the
historic and beautiful Old Swan & Minster Mill.
Located in the traditional Cotswold village of Old Minster, the stunning
five-star, Old Swan & Minster Mill is rural England at its finest. The 16th-century
inn, nestled on the banks of the River Windrush, is the perfect place to stop for
a well-deserved seasonal pub lunch.
After lunch, we all depart in cavalcade for the shorter leg to Blenheim Palace
and the Concours Show Field of Salon Privé. Tour participants will then retreat
to the Old Swan & Minster Mill before the evening Gala Dinner back at Blenheim
Palace ensues.

The Tour d’Elégance will start from Woodcote Park, the country home of the Royal Automobile Club, which was established in 1913 for the Club’s members to enjoy sporting and leisure
pursuits. In 1915 the Club added a golf course, designed by the renowned William Herbert Fowler, and nearly one hundred years later it now has two excellent 18 hole courses.
There are also fantastic restaurants, a swimming pool, racquet courts and 22 bedrooms all set in 360 acres of the beautiful Surrey countryside. We are tremendously grateful to the
Royal Automobile Club for allowing The Tour d’Elégance at Salon Privé to begin at such an illustrious, and historic, motoring venue.

The Old Swan & Minster Mill captures the charm of bygone years. Add to this the personal style characterised by the de Savary family, the 600 year old inn and adjoining mill have been
given a fresh and sometimes quirky feel with a good measure of modern convenience thrown in. The setting couldn’t be more romantic if it tried. At the very heart of the village
of Old Minster near Minster Lovell and alongside the beautiful and famous River Windrush, our hotel is set in 65 acres of magical gardens, wild-flower meadows and woodland. The inn
is close to Oxford and 90 minutes from London and Birmingham, the perfect spot to escape the city and explore the Cotswolds.

Blenheim Palace • ‘Britain’s greatest palace’
As you enter Blenheim Palace through the Woodstock gate, the beauty of the Palace, the lake and bridge will never fail to impress. This view, according to Lord Randolph
Churchill, is ‘the finest view in England’. Designated as a World Heritage Site, Blenheim Palace offers a unique and truly inspiring venue to host any prestigious fine dining experience.
One of England’s largest houses, it was built between 1705 and 1722 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It was designed by the famous architect Sir John
Vanbrugh in the rare English Baroque style and is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped Parkland and stunning Formal Gardens which represent a perfect
example of the English landscape garden movement and style. Famed as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is regarded as ‘Britain’s Greatest Palace’.
