Data Analysis – Common Themes
• Three main themes emerged from analysis of TAC workshop data Social media
– Easiest to implement because it is inexpensive and readily available. AIAA is making progress toward Social Media goals
Program improvement– AIAA is adding functionality to the new 2014 Forum
websites which will allow for easier integration of goals Remote access
– Currently ad hoc. Strategy under development.

bulk email, preconference buzz, impromptu remote access via telecon for day long seminar, need for Social Media chair
• 2013 JPC/IECEC Exec committee includes a Social Media chair, TC members
to actively promote activities via social media, preconference buzz, #aiaaPropEnergy, Twitter live feed display, Live steaming of plenary speeches, video highlight reel. Need for remote access.

Looking Ahead
• 2014 Forums AIAA staff evaluating overarching technology requirements
for future forums to enable use of new tools to increase engagement and collaboration
Recommendations from TAC workshop report and test-bed activities will be used in decision making
Remote access recommendation considered critical given current government travel restrictions and industry cost cutting.
– Multiple options are being explored.– A business plan and strategy will be developed and implemented in
near term
