A New Logo
You will begin to see our new logo in publications, on the website, and in our commu-
nity promotions. There are several points to notice about this new logo.
1. First and foremost, you will see our Mission Statement stating our
purpose as a community of faith. Building a community of faith that
glorifies God and reflects Jesus Christ.
2. You will also see the centrality of the cross in the logo showing
Christ’ love for us.
3. Within the logo you will find the four primary ways in which we seek
to accomplish our purpose.

Notes of Appreciation...
Many thanks to all who brought gifts of warm clothes for
the Mission Action Center on the last Sunday of 2012. The
center has had increased activity, serving 182 people in the
past three months. The additional clothing was greatly
needed.
The center always welcomes new volunteers who are avail-
able to work for two hours on Tuesday or Thursday every
other week or as substitute workers. If you want to be of
service to the community or if you like to organize, becom-
ing a volunteer would be a great way to start the new
year. Call Bettis Bryant at 534-6617 if you are interested.

The family of Helen Livingston would like to thank eve-
ryone for the prayers, cards, calls and meals. Each act of
kindness has been truly appreciated.

Words cannot adequately express our appreciation to FBC
members and staff for the outpouring of love, food, cards,
and visits expressed during our recent loss of our husband
and father, Stewart Kennerly. May God bless each of you.

To All Church Members: The housekeeping and maintenance of the First Baptist Church buildings and properties are critical to the church’s identity and its witness within the community. The buildings and properties belong to God and we should all be good stew-ards of what God has blessed us with.
The main purpose of the maintenance program at the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg is to identify, prioritize, and schedule all housekeeping and maintenance needs on a rou-tine and preventive basis. The housekeeping consists of those tasks that keep First Baptist Church facilities attractive, clean, neat, and safe. The maintenance consists of routine duties and preventive methods to keep all equipment operating properly and preserve the buildings and properties of the church.
To accommodate facility use, room request and setup, and work request for maintenance repairs that maybe needed, a work request and a room setup forms have been developed to assist administrative staff to respond to your request and needs. If you have a request, please come by the church office and complete a work request and/or room setup form. Your request at that time will be reviewed and given to the appro-priate staff level. God has enriched all of us in so many ways; especially, with the facilities we have here at the First Baptist Church. This is just one part of the overall ministry we can all participate to help preserve and utilize good stewardship of what God has blessed us with here at the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg.

Please Note ….

Notes of Appreciation… Dear First Baptist,
We all would like to thank everybody involved for the wonderful dinner that you provided for us after my father’s funeral. It was very delicious and greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your prayers and concerns during our family’s difficult time. We are so blessed to have such thoughtful people in our lives.

Dear Church Family,
What an wonderful time at First Baptist Orangeburg, South Carolina. On June 1, 2013 Joel, Jennifer,
Jackson and Jance will move to Orangeburg. We are excited about Joel taking the role of Minister of
Family Life, Education and Students, as well as, Jennifer accepting our part-time Children’s Minister
position. Over these last few years God has already blessed our church in many ways through their
family and we look forward to seeing how God continues to use their leadership in our ministries.
Are you actively worshipping God? How do you grow your knowledge and understanding of the
Word? What tangible mission project do you participate in? Are 10% of your resources earmarked for
God’s kingdom? As we continue to strive to “Build a Community of Faith that Glorifies God and Re-
flects Jesus Christ” challenge yourself in each of the four points of the cross. Work together with us as
we fulfill our mission at First Baptist Orangeburg.
God’s Garden Orangeburg will be a tangible expression of mission all of us can participate in this
coming growing season. We already have a prayer team of over 100 people praying for God to bless
this ministry and to be glorified through it. If you have interest as a Sunday School class, family or
individual in adopting a Garden Box please let me know ASAP. Initially, we will limit the garden to
28 4x8 boxes to help us build toward a successful growing season and allow us the opportunity to
learn as we grow to a potential garden of 86 4x8 boxes. A single 4x8 box has the potential to grow 256
ears of corn. Praise God!
On March 2 at 8:30 a.m. plan to come out and help us build and fill these 28 boxes. Many hands make
light work. We will serve lunch as well so let me know if you plan to attend. [email protected]
Bring shovels, garden rakes, ratchet sets, cordless drills, tree trimmers, yard rakes and other tools. We
plan to build the boxes, fill them, and prepare the grounds for the people who will be on campus serv-
ing this summer by adopting and caring for a box. Matthew 25:35
