Taking Vanderbilt Athletics to the Next Level
Who We AreThe National Commodore Club (NCC) provides an opportunity for Vanderbilt alumni, parents and fans to have a direct impact on Vanderbilt Athletics and on the lives of our student-athletes.
The NCC supports scholarships for student-athletes through the unrestricted annual fund, and we encourage every supporter to make a gift to this area first.
All donors to Vanderbilt Athletics will be classified as National Commodore Club members. Contributions can be made to specific sports or areas, and those gifts will count towards your total Athletics giving. However, gifts must be made to the NCC unrestricted fund to earn priority seating and parking benefits.
Football, Next Level Stats— Led by exciting new head coach James Franklin, the team built a solid foundation for the future with their fifth bowl appearance in school history. Zac Stacy set the school record for rushing in a single season with 1,136 yards.

Who Ya With? Vu! The spirit is rising among the Commodore Nation, and we need you to rise up! Join the more than 325 student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators who have committed to taking Vanderbilt Athletics to the next level. Here are six ways to show your next level support:
Your Next Level support steps1. Buy season tickets, wear your black and
gold with pride, and come to games.
2. Make or increase your gift to the next level of the NCC unrestricted fund to support student-athlete scholarships.
3. Help take a specific team(s) to the next level by making a restricted gift to their sport(s).
4. Consider making a capital or endowment gift.
5. Include Vanderbilt Athletics in your estate plan.
6. Encourage your friends and family to do the same.
Taking Vanderbilt Athletics to the Next Level
Baseball, Next Level Stats—Reached the College World Series in 2011 for the first time in school history, matched a school record 54 wins, and set an SEC and school record with twelve players selected in the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft
Why We Need Your supportIn 2011-12, Athletics will pay the university $12.15 million for the scholarships of our 325 student-athletes, money which is partly generated through generous donations of our National Commodore Club members. Although 2011 was a banner year in financial support through the NCC with $2.92 million raised and 3,268 total members (the most since 1998), growth in that support is needed to take our programs to the next level.

*The quantity and location of tickets and parking passes available is based on donor giving level—see season ticket and parking information description for details.**Ticket allocation and location based on availability and National Commodore Club priority. (All tickets are sold separately and are not included with your National Commodore Club membership dues.)
National Commodore Club Priority SystemThe National Commodore Club Priority System is used to provide a systematic and fair process to prioritize ticketing, seating, and parking requests from donors to Vanderbilt Athletics. Requests will be allocated based on the following criteria:
1. Active Status An “active” NCC member is defined as a donor who has made a gift to any area of Vanderbilt Athletics in either the current or previous fiscal year (currently FY11 or FY12).
2. Group
3. Priority Point Ranking within the Group
priority point rankingBeginning in 2011-12 we have instituted a new priority point system based on the following criteria:
H Cumulative Lifetime Athletics Giving = 1 point per $100 given up to 2011
H National Commodore Club Annual Giving = 1 point per $100 given per year
H Capital Project or Scholarship Endowment = 1 point per $100 given per year
H Cumulative NCC Membership = 1 point per each year of consecutive membership
H Former Vanderbilt Student-Athlete = 50 points (one-time calculation)
H Vanderbilt Alumni = 25 points (one time calculation; if former student-athlete, 50 points maximum awarded)
John Jenkins, Basketball, Next Level Stats—2011 First-team All-SEC, led the conference in scoring, and helped the team to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years

Group placement is determined by meeting at least one of the criteria listed for a particular group. *NCC Priority Ranking is determined by a combination of factors (including annual giving, lifetime giving to athletics, etc.)
Allocation processPostseason tickets (bowl games, SEC Tournaments, NCAA Tournaments) will be allocated in the order below:
1. Active NCC members
2. Season ticketholders
3. General public
Giving Opportunities
Restricted Gifts to a SportNew to the NCC this year! Make a gift that directly impacts the sport(s) of your choosing. These gifts go to that sport’s “excellence” fund for projects outside their operating budget. Any person giving to a restricted sport fund will be viewed as an NCC member and be delegated priority points, although a gift to the unrestricted NCC fund must be made for tickets and parking in priority areas.
Jr. National Commodore Club The Jr. National Commodore Club is an excellent way to start any young Vanderbilt fan on the path to becoming a lifelong supporter of the Commodores. For $50, kids ages 13 and younger will be enrolled and receive great benefits such as official kids club t-shirt, drawstring bag, membership card, star-V pin, NCC decal, and NCC school packet. All members will also earn NCC priority points.
Young AlumniIf you have recently graduated from Vanderbilt, the NCC Young Alumni program provides special benefits for you. With a minimum gift of $100 to the NCC, young alumni who have received a degree from any Vanderbilt undergraduate school within the last five years can purchase two football and/or basketball season tickets at a discounted price, along with benefits associated with NCC membership.
Planned GivingFans can help ensure that the excellence of Vanderbilt Athletics continues into the future by making a planned gift. The Office of Planned Giving is available to assist anyone who is interested in supporting student-athletes with an estate gift or a gift that can provide income back to the donor. Endowment GivingAn endowment gift is one of the most powerful gifts you can give to Vanderbilt Athletics. A gift to the Vanderbilt Athletics Endowment provides a steady source of scholarship assistance. Named scholarships begin at $300,000. A gift of $600,000 will endow a full-tuition athletics scholarship, and a $900,000 gift is needed to fully endow an athletics scholarship.
Capital GivingThe enhancement and building of new facilities that impact the performance of Vanderbilt Athletics are a priority for our success. We are currently fundraising for several projects such as McGugin Center renovations, the Golf Training Center, and the Percy Warner Bridge Project.

Methods of Giving
10 NationalCommodoreClub.com H (615) 322-4114
The National Commodore Club accepts several forms of giving:
The National Commodore Club’s website (NationalCommodoreClub.com) provides extensive information on all topics relating to the National Commodore Club. The site allows new members to join online and allows renewing members to make their renewal gifts through the secure site.
One-Time Payments Gifts can be made with cash or check, while many members now choose to pay by credit card (American Express, MasterCard, VISA, or Discover) online at NationalCommodoreClub.com
Monthly Drafts or Scheduled Payments The National Commodore Club can draft your checking or credit card account on a monthly basis. Drafts can be authorized on the membership form included in this publication. You may also set up your own scheduled payments via credit card.
Gifts of Donated Stock A gift of appreciated stock is an excellent means of support. The transfer process is not complicated, and donors enjoy several tax advantages. For more information, contact the Stock Gift Office at (615) 322-4987 or at [email protected]
Matching Gifts Some employers will match donations their employees make to charitable and educational organizations. These matching gifts can be applied towards your annual gift level and, in some cases, qualify for point credit on your membership. Contact your employer’s human resources department for information about a matching gift program.

Brittni Hamilton, Bowling, Next Level Stats—2011 United States Amateur Female Bowler of the Year by the USA Bowling Writers, 2011 Intercollegiate Singles Championship, and led the team to a 2011 national runner-up finish
Who can join the National Commodore Club? All Vanderbilt fans and supporters are encouraged to make a gift to the NCC. You do not have to be an alumnus/alumna, former student-athlete, or season ticket holder to make a gift to the NCC.
Is my NCC contribution tax-deductible?Your NCC membership entitles you to certain benefits including parking passes, the right to buy tickets, and Commodore Nation magazine. The value of these benefits will reduce the tax credit of your NCC gift, in accordance with federal tax regulations. If you wish to receive full tax credit for your gift, please indicate that you are declining NCC benefits (and please note that by declining, you will not receive parking passes, the right to buy tickets, or any other benefits).
How can I get season tickets or tickets for post- season play? The National Commodore Club will use a new grouping criteria and priority rank calculation to determine the allocation of tickets for season tickets, bowl games, and SEC and NCAA Tournament games. A detailed breakdown of the grouping criteria is located on page 6. This system has been formulated to allocate the best seats based on NCC priority.
Can I give directly to a particular sport or area of the Athletics Department?Donors can give directly to the sport or area of their choice by indicating this on their NCC membership form. Gifts made directly to a sport are deemed “restricted gifts” for that program. All donors who make a gift to any area of athletics will be recognized as NCC members, but benefits associated with NCC unrestricted gifts, such as priority season tickets and parking privileges, will not apply to a restricted gift.
