Where Are We Now?
Are we asking the questions?
• Building (MaintainingMaintaining) a SDI will require new ways of thinking• That’s ok• We should learn from those that are doing it right
now• We have the technology to not only gather data, but
share knowledge quickly

14How will government work with this?
Where Are We Now?

Government has a role to play but maybe…• We should be enablers
• We should not stifle innovation
• We should open the doors to the information and get out of the way

Toilet Map
- GIS as a decision-making tool for the City of Greeley's Water Conservation Program
- Where should we concentrate our water-saving initiatives? (i.e. incentives, low flow fixture and toilet rebates, etc)
- Key components to this analysis are sound data, collaboration, decision criteria and communication
- Density analysis, cubic convolution - Gallons per capita per data (~20,000 accts) compared to national AWWA average
- Water conservation field crews can focus on key city blocks to concentrate on highest indoor water use per capita areas. Very successful program over the last 5 years.
