Piping Capability:
Generally, we source materials in Australia
that comply with the appropriate
standards, and we source non-standard
items from overseas suppliers.
Typically, we work with carbon steel,
stainless steel, Victaulic, HDPE, CPVC, PVDF,
PVC, PP and FRP piping materials across
a range of industries including oil, gas and

We have strong relationships with key clients in mining, development and construction industries including:
Watson piping has the capability and experience to accommodate the full range of pressure welding projects. From coal wash
plants to Class 1 pressure welding for gas pipelines, our Quality Assurance system incorporates all aspects of fabrication, allowing
for full traceability requirements.
With our full traceability documented QA system in place, Watson Piping was certified to ISO-9001 in September 2009.
All pressure welders employed by Watson Piping are qualified to industry standards including:
Watson Piping understands the importance of communication, team work, quality assurance and deadlines, this is why we have
developed a spool tracking system that allows all aspects of fabrication to be captured and up dated daily for quick response
reporting.
A full-time Welding Supervisor is employed to ensure all procedures/standards are strictly followed. All Welding traceability, Material
traceability, cutting lists and delivery dockets are linked to one spool tracking sheet that identifies progress through total weld
inches and actual completed inches. This is also linked to a graph that shows true progress allowing us to identify bottlenecks
early and ensure deadlines are met.

TRACEABILITY
QUALITY
In line with the Walz Groups safety commitment,
the Watson Piping team considers safety our
number one priority.
With strict safety policies and procedures in
place and the benefits of a clean, lean workshop,
we ensure all employees have a safe work
environment, and this reflects in the quality of
work produced.
A Job Safety Analysis is completed for every
job performed in the workshop through our
Occupational Risk Management System. We
consider this a critical part of our operation.
Watson Piping considers accountability and
tracking vital to providing consistent, quality
product and service.
Every project awarded is allocated its own
individual Job number for tracking purposes. All
correspondence, documents, files and data are
referenced with this number throughout the
duration of the Job. These are filed as both
electronic and hard copies, and stored numerically.
A specific work pack, which references the
Job number, is also created for the Workshop
Supervisor. It also includes two copies of AFC
Drawings (one for the workshop floor and one
for QA), a materials list, all material, tracking
schedules and a complete project scope including
specific client NDT requirements.
The Tracking Schedule is updated on a daily
basis - allowing the team to monitor pipe spools
through each stage of the fabrication process.
It also provides the Workshop Manager with a
forecast of when material is due at the paint
yard and the clients on-site delivery date.
We also operate with a Welding Traceability
register, Load Check sheets and Delivery Notes.
Quality Assurance is essential and of utmost
importance to our team.
We strongly believe in producing quality product
and service every time, and a carefully developed
set of procedures ensures we achieve this.
Watson Piping works closely with an independent
Welding inspector who carries out Independent
Audits. The report provides details of any errors
or imperfections so these can be rectified prior
to the product leaving our workshop. The report
comes complete with photos, which are an
important reference point for future work.
Manufacturers Data Report:
MDRs are compiled for each and every project at the Watson Piping
workshop, ensuring a high quality of work is produced at all times. The
MDR includes an ITP, Release Certificates, Material Test Certificate,
Welder Qualifications, Welding Procedures, NDT request and Reports,
Approved for Construction Drawings, Paint QAs and any other items
requested by the client.
QA Drawings:
Each and every Approved for Construction drawing is stamped and QA
checks are conducted and signed off prior to transportation. A copy of
the As Built with QA stamp is included in the MDR.
Welding Consumables:
In line with our commitment to Total traceability throughout every job, a
Welding Consumables register is maintained for each and every project.
Non-conformance Reports:
Watson Piping operates under and NCR process to ensure all errors
are identified, assessed and remedied, and preventative measures are
actioned. This incorporates suppliers, clients and our internal reporting
system.
All NCRs are discussed at our weekly safety and planning meetings,
where preventative measures are formalised. An audit is also conducted
to ensure these procedures have been implemented effectively.
