There are many places to observe bald eagles
in Great Rivers Country. Bald eagles make their home near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting. Great Rivers Country contains 33 counties with the Mississippi River as its western boundary and the Illinois River on the eastern side, making it the perfect location to eagle watch.
Traveling from North to South, we’ve provided Eagle Watching Site Maps to help you find the best general locations for viewing these magnificent birds.
