Școala Gimnazială Teasc is situated some 25 kilometres away from the municipality of Craiova, the biggest city in Dolj County. Covering kindergarten, elementary and lower secondary education, the pupils` ages range from 4 to 15. The school is situated in a socio-economically disadvantaged area – the pupils` families are sustained through agriculture. In order to provide for their rather large families, some of the parents of the pupils work abroad. There is a school building in each of the two villages: Teasc and Secui.

The area we come from is rich in customs and traditions which are reflected in the folk costumes and the traditional folk dances the students are so talented in. They practice on a weekly basis and present the dances to school celebrations, local events such as the celebration of the village, as well as dance contests, to the delight of all participants.
