Introduction
This project aims at creating a practical knowledge, experience and exposure for
the students by giving an opportunity to know, observe, and learn the nature,
vision, objectives and functioning of an organization and the activities in the
organization. This would enable me to get a practical and real time feel of the
various aspects of an organization and relate it to the concepts and theories studied
so far in the class room. This exercise would enable the future managers to face the
challenges lying ahead. It also enables to create a good relationship with the
officials.This project aims to know about to cover all the departments in the
organisationand its functions.

The first Pantaloons was opened in Gariahat in 1997. Over the years, it has undergone
several transitions. When it was first launched, this store mostly sold external brands. Gradually,
it started retailing a mix of external brands while at the same time introduced its own private
brands. Initially positioned as a family store, it finally becoming a fashion store with an
emphasis on 'youth' and clear focus on ‘fresh fashion’. The company follows basket of Indian
customers. In the lifestyle segment, the group operates Pantaloons, a fashion retail chain and
Central, a chain of seamless malls. In the value segment, its marquee brand, Big Bazaar is a
hypermarket format that combines the look, touch and feel of Indian bazaars with the choice and
convenience of modern retail.
Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited, is a large Indian retailer, which is part of the Future Group,
and operates multiple retail formats in both the value and lifestyle segment of the Indian
consumer market. Headquartered in Mumbai, the company has over 1,000 stores across 71 cities

SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Indian Retail Sector have emerged as a most dynamic and fast pace industries with immense
competition. Retail Organization is aggressively adopting, innovating marketing strategies to
attract customers. Many players are trying to recreate the ambience and experience of foreign
shopping malls and are providing wide product range, quality and value for money to create a
memorable shopping experience. Retail outlets are offering different kinds of promotional
scheme and discount to enhance sales. However, it is still to find out at what customer are
accepting this innovation and what they perceive about it. Thus, this study was conducted at
Organizational Retail Outlet, which was in MOUNT ROAD , to find out how the various
promotional schemes and the Organizational structure from this outlet.

1. The Company should keep a track on the staff members to know whether the facilities
provided by them are utilized for the relevant purposes & not for their personal uses.
2. Regarding the department the Company should lock the phone lines instead of the
phones when a person leaves the seat.
3. To use parental control software to lock the unnecessary websites.
4. Similarly the Company should make conveyance service agreement with regard to ups,
floor cleaning, pest control, building maintenance etc.,
5. The working environment should be improved to make the staff member feel happier.
6. Financial assistance could be designed in such a way so as to improve the facilities given
to the employees which in term improves the efficiency of the employees.

I conclude by saying that the organization has a good manpower and well executed plans . And
this can be only accomplished by the overall employees tafe can maintain the world no. 1 as
now. This helped me to gain practical knowledge of department and their responsibility towards
