Rising Stars Children’s Center
Preschoolers: are loving the out doors when
able to take part and making igloos
and snow men in the park. Also, they
have been exploring and learning
about the solar system while creating
their own pictures of planets .
Welcome to our new children:
Diamond, Makenley, Mikko, Mason, Aleka, Keo, Elise
& Madison.
Babies: have been enjoying making many crafts and have begun getting ready for Easter. They are lov-ing their dance parties, bub-bles, popcorn table, reading and bingo dabber creations.
Toddlers: have been busy
making play dough, learning
about animals, and making
cute foot print crafts. They en-
joy singing/acting to Old Macdonald Had a
Farm, and the Wheels on The Bus.
Our older children have been really good role models and mentoring the younger children or our day-care .Some of the activities the older children are doing with the younger age groups include reading, crafts, helping on the Explorer Workstation, and playing with them!
No School Days: 16, 30 & 31st.
Welcome to our new children:
Patience, Julian, Blake , Adrianna, Adam, & Katelyn
The Children went on a field trip to the Pawz & Klawz pet shop. They were able to visit and touch the animals. Some of the animals they visited were a very friend-ly ferret, kittens and snakes. The children also enjoyed their Valentines card exchange, and dec-orating Valentines cook-ies.

Important BG Club information: Our children have shown a great interest in pets and animals at the BG club. We would
like to have your family pet for a visit. Please contact Sylvie, Jessica, or Leslie to make arrangements if your family pet can come for a visit.
If you would like to treat children or staff of the BG club please ensure the treats are healthy and reflect the most often choices from the Canada Food Guide.
We are accepting donations of craft items such as paint, construction paper, glue and other craft supplies.
Scholastic orders are due the last Thursday of everyone month.

Tips and Useful Information: Information on second hand smoke: Children are particularly vulnerable to the
effects of second hand smoke because they are still developing physically, they have higher breathing rates than adults, and have little control over their indoor environments. Exposure to second hand smoke can cause asthma in children who have not previously shown symptoms, & increase the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Infants and children younger than 6 who are regularly exposed to second hand smoke are at an increased risk of lower respiratory track infections, such as pneumonia and bronchitis, they are also at an increased risk for middle ear infections.
Helpful tips about sleep: Light helps you know when to sleep and when to be awake. Light can wake you up, even light from a television or other electronics can make it harder to fall asleep. A dim nightlight is okay. You should have as much bright light in your room as possible in the morning to help you wake up!
