Therapeutic Enactment Group Intervention for Traumatized Clients 2½ Day Intensive Training Weekend The goal of this advanced workshop is to teach counselling professionals the model of Therapeutic Enactment for working with traumatized clients in a group context with the primary focus on veteran and refugee populations. This is an introductory (Level I ) TE workshop which will present the model through teaching with video, demonstrations, and experience based learning sessions for the participants. Participants learn how to plan, design, and lead this approach and how to integrate it into their current and ongoing counselling practice. Registration is limited to 16 participants. Instructors: Dr. Marvin Westwood is a professor in the Counselling Psychology Program at the University of British Columbia. His teaching and research focus is on group counselling, enactment therapy, psychotherapy, and trauma repair. Dr. Westwood is a highly specialized trainer and expert group therapist . Dr. Michael Dadson is a clinical director at Brookswood Counselling Services and a seasoned group therapist who uses enactment therapy to treat trauma and transition with the Veterans Transition Network. Dr. Dadson has provided supervision and clinical training for therapists and graduate students in private practice and university counselling centres for over 10 years. Instructors:

Location: Brookswood Counselling Services Langley, B.C. #107 20103 40th Avenue, Langley, BC (use the entrance at the front end of the building, closest to the street)

Registrants must have experience or graduate level training in providing psychological therapy. Knowledge and experience in group therapy and experience working with clients who have been traumatized is an important asset. Successful applicants will be expected to complete two readings in advance of the workshop.
