GRITTING DELAYS AGAIN
A fair start for every child
LABOUR’S LEGACY We’re having to pay £120 millionEVERY DAY, in interest payments
alone, on the national debt
After 13 years of Labour rule, the
country was left with a national debt
of nearly £900 billion
Residents in Downham were left for more than a week beforetheir roads were gritted after the recent snow.
Bus routes and major roads were kept clear, but other roadsthat were supposed to be gritted were left struggling. Thesnow on many roads turned to solid ice, making it even moredifficult for residents to get out and about.
Downham Councillor, Duwayne Brooks, said, “The Council
don’t seem to have learned from the gritting chaos lastwinter, despite their promises. All they had to do was delivergrit to local roads in time. Council street cleaners would thenhave been able to start gritting as soon as the snow settled, not one week later.”
Councillor Brooks has asked the Council for assurances thatgrit will be provided on time in the event of more snow.

Local Liberal Democrats are
campaigning against the
proposed charges for parkingin London’s red route bays.
Many parking bays provide
