In the U.S., these professionals visit each rig every two weeks and help our customers choose the right parts for the drilling conditions and mud mixtures that they are encountering. They know which pistons and valves to recommend for water-based mud versus oil-based mud, or which parts to use in high temperature and high pressure applications. Additives to the drilling mud, such as LCM and acids, will also impact the choice of the ideal piston, liner, or valve.
Our field mechanics and technicians are trained to perform all types of pump and valve maintenance including, but not limited to, pump alignment, periodic maintenance, and equipment change-outs. If a pump is using an unusual amount of spares and expendables, often our technicians can identify adjustments to the pumps that can fix the problem. These experts are available to fly/travel anywhere in the world at short notice.
INVENTORY KEPT AT YOUR RIG 24/7/365 – AT OUR COSTMany of our rig customers choose to use our consignment box program, where we agree on a list of parts to keep at the rig at our cost. The parts are available to the rig 24/7/365. The customer does not pay for any of the parts until they are used.
100% INSPECTION TO OUR ENGINEERING DRAWINGSAfter machining, each part is inspected 100% per our engineering drawings. Our QC department maintains micrometers, hardness testing equipment, and pressure testing equipment. This equipment is calibrated per the time frames outlined in our Quality Manual.
Job routers are strictly followed for each part, ensuring consistent quality from each part.

We take these lessons and apply them in the research, development, and testing of our products. As a response to problems that we have seen in the field, we have developed new performance enhancing technologies to increase safety and to save time and money.
Sur-Lock™ Valve CoverThe Sur-Lock Valve Cover System was designed to eliminate the unsafe practices of using cheater pipes and sledge hammers to tighten and loosen valve covers. In current practice, one rig hand will hold a pipe in the valve cover holes and another will swing a large sledge hammer at the pipe in order to loosen or tighten the assembly.
The new Sur-Lock system eliminates this unsafe practice and radically decreases the time it takes to remove valve covers, and replace valves and seats. The new system requires no special tooling and weighs about the same as a conventional valve cover assembly. With the use of an impact wrench or just a torque wrench, the valve cover can be removed or replaced with minimal safety risk.
Sur-Lock™ Rod LinkThe Sur-Lock Rod Link System was developed to provide a safer and faster way to unfasten the piston rod and remove the piston from the liner. The sub rod contains a proprietary “wedge lock” mechanism that allows the piston and pony rods to be connected by simply inserting pins and turning a bolt. No hydraulic fitting, seals, or pumps are necessary.
The system uses rods and rod extensions that are 100% compatible with the same parts from the P-Quip system. Additionally, our torque module can completely replace the P-Quip hydraulic module in plug-and-play fashion.
Sur-Lock™ Liner RetentionThe Sur-Lock Liner Retention System was designed to drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to change a liner. Additionally, our new Liner Retainer eliminates the need for hammers to generate the necessary torque required by integrating a torque multiplying pinion and bull gear into a conventional liner retention system. We have also reduced the weight of our liner nut to make change-outs safer and easier. The time to install a liner and tighten to required torque is reduced to 45 seconds.

Quick-Change Drilling Technologies
Sur-Line®
We developed the Sur-Line System to prevent mud and other fluids from passing into the power section from the fluid end section of the mud pump, and to prevent fluid from going from the power section into the fluid end section.
The Sur-Line System uses a unique floating seal system that bolts into the wall between the power section and the fluid end section. The seals inside this housing seal against the OD of the pony rod, thus preventing fluid from passing between the two sections of the mud pump.
We carry parts to fit pumps from most major manufacturers. Sur-Line Systems are simple enough to be installed by the rig crew, or can be installed by our technical service department at the rig site.
Sur-Drive™ Epicyclic SwivelPremium Oilfield Technologies designed the Sur-Drive Epicyclic Swivel System to address multiple problems that drillers have had with their top drive washpipe assemblies. Our unique epicyclic design takes a new approach to these problems by slowing down the internal speeds within the cartridge for any given top drive rotational speed.
RPM on Packing Seals Reduced A planetary gear is integrated into the lower housing. The carrier holds the washpipe and by design rotates 40% slower. This allows the rotational speed to be split 60/40 between lower and upper housings. This raises the Pressure-Velocity values for your existing seals which increases seal life.
Self Aligning The Sur-Drive cartridge assembly has a unique feature for self-centering during installation which compensates for lateral misalignment between the gooseneck and main shaft pilots.
Hammerless Installation The Sur-Drive cartridge assembly can be inserted horizontally and secured into place with two hub clamps by permanently installing our adapter hubs.
Pre-Compressed Packing Seals The Sur-Drive cartridge assembly allows for the seals to be compressed on the ground prior to installation by way of eight low torque screws. No special tools are needed to compress these seals.

Premium Oilfield Technologies has multiple slip options for your drilling operations. All of our slips come with Safety Flex Handles and are interchangeable with the OEM equivalent.
Rotary Slips Varco “SD” Style 2-3/8" through 5-1/2" The “SD” style slips are used in standard API bowls. By using a dovetail design, our inserts are held firmly in place and are easily changed by removing the retainer.
Woolley “Type B” Style 2-3/8" through 5-1/2" The Woolley “Type B” slips come with flat bottoms to help them sit firmly on the rig floor. A single retaining pin allows easy replacement of dies.

Varco “DC” Style 3" through 14" The wraparound design assures firm grip and the flat segment tops make it easy to lay safety clamps.
Woolley “Type A” 3" through 10" The three piece insert design insures complete gripping action, but allows for easy replacement of the dies.

Safety ClampsWe offer the Varco style “MP” and the Baash-Ross Type “C” & “T” safety clamp.
All of our clamps consist of individual links hinged together with wedge shaped inserts (spring loaded). This ensures an initial grip on the pipe, and should load increase or the pipe start to fall, the taper on the insert causes an increased grip. The size can be adjusted by simply adding or subtracting links. All of our clamps come in a box equipped with wrench for securing clamp.

Top Drive/Swivel Cartridge AssembliesPremium Oilfield Technologies carries complete cartridge assemblies for the major brands of top drives and swivels. We recommend carrying an extra assembly on standby for quick turnaround and reduced downtime.
Our washpipes are chrome plated and ground to a fine finish ensuring a tight seal and reduced friction.
Washpipe packing is molded using rubber impregnated fabric to increase durability and longevity.
All of our parts are interchangeable on a part-to-part and unit-to-unit basis.
Laser AlignmentPremium Oilfield Technologies leads the industry in technology for precise alignment of the power end section of the mud pump and the fluid end section. We use a specially designed laser system for determining alignment, a method far superior and accurate than the traditional method of using uncalibrated wooden rods. Proper alignment of the pump’s crosshead to the fluid end liner is a requirement for maximizing piston and liner life. Our laser alignment inspection system takes the guesswork out of the alignment process by providing results indicating horizontal and vertical offset as well as angular misalignment– down to 0.0001".
Inspections One of the key elements to avoiding unplanned downtime is a strong preventative maintenance program supported by thorough inspections. Our Technical Services group offers inspection services as well as assistance with field and shop repairs and upgrades.
