Police Involved ShootingDove Street
Following is a summary of the information we have available about the
police-involved shooting at 31 ove !treet. " caution you that this is
preliminary information# and may be sub$ect to change as the
investigation progresses.
%arlier today# at about &'() p.m.# *+cers from the Rochester ,olice
epartments Lae !ection were dispatched to a City location for a report
of a domestic incident. /he responding o+cers were informed that
Michael !cott# a male 30 years of age# had physically attaced a womanat that location. /he o+cers were further informed that the womans son
and daughter intervened to protect her from Mr. !cott. /he o+cers were
informed that Mr. !cott left the location# threatening to return with a gun.
*+cers then commenced eorts to locate Mr. !cott before he could obtain
a gun and return. 2t about &'&& p.m.# three R, o+cers located Mr. !cott
driving a minivan near ove !treet and Laeview ,ar. *+cers
attempted to pull the minivan over# at which time a brief vehicle pursuit
occurred. /he minivan stopped in the front part of the driveway at 31
ove !treet. 2t that time# Mr. !cott eited the van and was holding a
handgun# which he pointed in the direction of the o+cers. *+cers
ordered Mr. !cott to put down the gun# but he continued to point the gun
