Harder Challenge: (An adult will have to read this activity to you, but you should be able to complete it on your own – or with little help)
Atmosphere During our English lessons we study a text, a book, film or play. Just before the lockdown our class were looking closely at the Lion King playscript. We watched clips of the Lion King performance in London and also the DVD.
We looked at different parts of the film and play and thought carefully about how it made us feel. The atmosphere is how it makes us feel.
Sometimes a happy atmosphere is created. We can see it is a happy atmosphere from the bright colours and the smiling faces.
Sometimes a frightening atmosphere is created. We can see that it is a frightening atmosphere from the scared faces and the actions of the characters.
To help us understand the play, it is important that we can recognise what atmosphere is being created. Have a look at these pictures taken from the live
performance and DVD and write an adjective that describes the atmosphere in the picture. The first one has been done for you.
