Doug Curry helped turn a six-year low performing school around in one year. We had a lot of slow llamas at OL Slaton Middle School and through Doug Curry’s deliberate and targeted training our slow llamas sped up and were no longer getting gobbled up by the Tigers! Doug Curry is a master at helping shape the culture to one of HOPE rather than HOPELESSNESS! Doug is a dynamic speaker that will keep your staff fully engaged all day long. Doug becomes invested in the success of your school and is willing to help even after the training is done. I highly recommend Doug Curry and his llama approach to helping all teachers get better at what they do.

Damon McCall—Administrator, Lubbock, TX

Doug Curry's Llama Training is absolutely one of the best professional developments I have attended.  I believe this training should be offered at the beginning of every year as it provides the essential strategies needed for classroom management.   The foundation of Llama Training is hope and kindness rather than punishment - something that we all need to remember! My entire staff attended the training  and they were able to implement what they had learned immediately. It has had a positive impact on their classroom environment but more importantly, the lives of their kids.

Martha Lacy—Administrator-Fairfield, CA

You know the saying, "The inmates are running the asylum?" When I became the principal at our school, that would have been a very accurate statement.  Our teachers were working so hard with a very challenging population of students, but with no systems or structures in place for expectations for students.  I thought we would be working on an instructional focus based on our student data, but it became apparent very quickly that we needed to first work on establishing relationships of respect and clear expectations with our students.  Doug came to our school and set the wheels in motion to empower our staff to change the culture of our school, then came back and gave them the tools to never find themselves as the "slow llama."  In the first six months, behavior disruptions in the classroom dropped significantly and student learning has now become our primary focus – as it should be!  Thanks, Doug!

Paige Hanks—Administrator, McKinney, TX

I have always been known for excellent classroom management. However, Llama training showed me I still had more to learn. I have always viewed my classroom management as a tool to help ME to be able to instruct! Mr. Curry pointed out that our students crave structure and discipline and said, "It's the highest form of love you can give them." Wow! I do love my students but I have never viewed my structure and/or discipline as the highest form of love I can give them. That one statement opened my eyes to the fact that I didn't need to provide structure and discipline for ME but for my students! This touched me and on those days when I don't feel like having structure, it motivates me to get past myself and do it for the kids. I feel like I am even more intentional about it now than I have ever been. This was truly one of the most relevant trainings I have ever been to!
