Colours

I have chosen this colour scheme because this is a very common colour combination, particularly in magazines, as they are strong colours and therefore make things stand out a lot, which will attract the readers attention. Also, it matches the colours found in the main image.

Title

The title will be the band logo, which is following the conventions of a double page spread. Also, as Betty Chicago are a new band, by using their band logo as the title it will help the reader to recognise their name.

TextThese are the fonts I am going to use for the quotation, text

anchorage and general text on my double page spread. By having a range of text fonts on my double page spread this is following conventions and is making it more interesting. The fonts on the left and right will be used for the text anchorage and general text, as they will be easy to read, especially that it is used for larger chunks of text. The font in the middle will be used for the quotation, as slanted fonts are usually used for quotations.

Main ImageI have chosen this photo because both the girls are looking straight at the camera, which gives the sense that they are looking directly at the audience. It also shows their closeness. The girl on the right is holding a cigarette and a beer bottle, implying that she is carefree, and that the band is edgy. Also, I have edited in the Starling masthead on the magazine using photoshop, which is implying that Betty Chicago reads the magazine, which is a common technique used in magazine, as it actually promotes the magazine by showing that celebrities read it.

Mode of Address

Like the rest of my magazine, the mode of address for this double page spread will be informal and chatty, as I am targeting a younger audience, therefore this mode of address will appeal to them. Also, the text will be informative, as it will be telling the audience about this new band, Betty Chicago.

Content

The content of this double page spread will be an introduction to the new band to hit the music scene, Betty Chicago. It will tell the audience about who this new band are, what type of music they produce and what their personality is like. It will be a positive article which aims to promote the band.
