The meetingwill take place at Greenfield City Hall —Common Council Chambers — 7325 W.Forest Home Ave., Greenfield, WI 53220on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, from 5to 7 p.m.
The meeting will be conducted in anopen house format. The objective of thismeeting is to familiarize the public withthe purpose and need for the project andto obtain input on the proposedimprovements. No formal presentationwill be given. Representatives of theWisDOT will be available to discuss theproposed project and address any ques-tions or concerns.
The purpose of the proposed projectis to improve the safety and operationsof this intersection. This intersection isin close proximity to the Oak Leaf Trail, and there has been a history of right-
angle (T-bone) motorist crashes andcrashes involving pedestrians and bicy-clists. Traffic signals will be added aswell as a westbound left-turn lane onmainline WIS 24. The Milwaukee Common Council onWednesday voted unanimously to createa City-County Heroin, Opioid and CocaineTask Force charged with studying theproblems of drug abuse in MilwaukeeCounty and presenting policy recommen-dations to address the issue, AldermanMichael J. Murphy said.
“Our analysis of the data shows thatdrug overdose deaths continue to climbin our community,” Murphy said. “Whilewe have already developed a critical part-nership to study this epidemic, the next
step is to translate these data intoaction.
“That’s where the City-County Heroin,Opioid and Cocaine Task Force will comein, analyzing the problem with the helpof stakeholders from throughout thecommunity and producing policy recom-mendations to help reverse this startling, deadly trend.”
Murphy was the primary sponsor ofthe legislation creating the task force(attached), which will be composed ofexperts from the Common Council, Health
Department, Police Department, FireDepartment, Milwaukee County CircuitCourt, Intergovernmental Relations, theCounty Executive’s office, healthcare orhospital systems, the Medical Society ofMilwaukee County, medical professionals, community organizations and the gener-al public.
The task force will build on the city’spartnership with the Medical College ofWisconsin and data analysis by AldermanMurphy’s office. An early examination ofoverdose figures had showed the county
was on pace to endure a record number ofheroin and opiate overdose deaths in theyear 2016. Updated 2016 data are expect-ed to be released as the task force isassembled in the weeks ahead.
"Drug abuse and addiction affectnearly every citizen in our community,”Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abelesaid. “Instead of stigmatizing these indi-viduals and their families and addressingaddiction solely through the criminal jus-tice system, it is imperative that we tack-
Hectic schedules can make managingtime seem like a riddle wrapped inside anenigma. Many people feel there are notenough hours in the day. But busy menand women need not look for extra hoursin the day to manage their time moreeffectively.
• Examine your existing time man-agement. Before creating strategies forchanging the way you manage your time, you first need to understand how you arecurrently spending it. Jot down whatyou do during an average week. Includehow long you spend conversing, whenyou start working, how often you checkyour email, etc. Analyze this time in aneffort to determine how much of it isbeing spent doing something productiveand how much is getting in the way ofgetting things done.
• Complete crucial tasks first. Figureout which of your daily tasks are mostimportant and take care of those firstbefore moving on to less importanttasks. This can reduce stress and makeyou feel more confident that you canaccomplish the smaller tasks.
• Write things down. It’s easy to feeloverwhelmed when there are manythings swimming around in your head.Put your to-do list on paper. Seeing it inblack and white can help you separatethe important tasks from other things
that can be put off forthe time being or del-egated to someoneelse. If necessary, usea day planner or setnotifications on yoursmartphone.
• Turn off emailnotifications. Emailnotifications can bevery distracting whenyou are trying to getwork done. Turn theseoff so you can concen-trate more on thetasks at hand.
• Recharge withdowntime. Physicaland mental fatiguecan contribute to pro-crastination. Planperiodic breaksthroughout your day. These breaks can helpyou be more produc-tive by reenergizingyou.
• Avoid instantaccess. Schedule a time to return phonecalls and instant messages rather thanthinking you need to reply right away. Some notes may require immediateattention, but many likely do not.
• Block out distractions. Turn offyour television and phone and steer clearof social media while trying to get thingsdone. Come back to them later whenyou’ve completed your tasks.
• Be flexible. What works for anotherperson may not work for you. Therefore, try a variety of strategies to get a betterhandle on time management until youdiscover one that works best for you.

Canyons, southwestern rock forma-tions, and small towns in the territorywill be located along the show’s 700 feetof track. Tiny bandits will be lurking inthe landscape, ready to pull a heist.
“From the toddlers thrilled withThomas the Tank Engine to visitors withyears of experience creating their owntrain layouts in the basement or garden, people attending this show represent allages–a testament to the show’s cross-gen-erational appeal,” said Sandy Folaron,Director of The Domes.
Featured in the landscape will bethousands of small and miniature plants, including Asparagus fern, resemblingtumbleweeds; Red Rooster grass, with thecopper glow of the western landscape;and Cuphea ‘Dynamite,’ with small redflowers resembling sticks of dynamite.Pink and red dwarf azalea topiaries willserve as trees in the landscape.
In 2015, nearly 54,000 people attend-ed the train show, making it the mostpopular show of the year. In 2016 whenThe Domes temporarily closed, nearly27,000 visitors had attended in onlythree weeks.
Volunteers from three state-wide trainclubs–WI Garden Railroad, KenoshaRailroad and Wisconsin Illinois TrainClub–will run their collectible trains
daily. Related special events are planned
during the show’s run. The weekend of Feb. 11—12 will bring
all sizes of model trains to the lobby forthe Collectible All-Scale Train Exhibit.Layouts will include even the tiniest z-scale models. Members of train clubs fromacross the state will be happy to sharedetails and the history of their displays.
March 4, Gardens and GearsSteampunk Faire will return for its thirdyear. This popular, gadget-filled gardenparty will put a sci-fi twist on the OldWest. Creative artists and craftsmen, allhaving a vision of an alternate past, willoffer unique entertainment and merchan-dise inspired by technology, metal, andthe Victorian era. Food and beverages willbe available for purchase.
Show hours are Monday—Friday, from9 a.m.—5 p.m., with extended hoursThursdays until 9 p.m.; and Saturdaysand Sundays, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., withhours extended for the Steampunk Faireuntil 9 p.m.
