Dorado High-Performance Database Solution

Database nowadays benefits many fields in enterprise

operations, covering enterprise resource planning, customer

relationship management, end-to-end manufacturing process

from procurement, production, to distribution, and enterprise

management issues including finance, human resources, and

decision-making. To survive in fierce market competitions,

enterprises must provide high-quality and efficient services to win

Optimized data productivity to bring a rapid service development

The queries time for OLAP applications is reduced by 72% and •

the efficiency is grown 4-fold.

The transaction response time for OLTP applications is reduced •

by 88%.

The number of supported active users is increased by 24-fold.•

Reduced hardware/software license requirements and a simplified •

architecture lower the maintenance and management complexity.

Four-level reliability protection mechanisms to safeguard key

applications

Application level: applicable to all database clusters such as •

Oracle RAC, SQL Server MSCS, and DB2 Cluster.

Solution level: supports multipathing software and data •

protection technologies such as snapshot and replication in

mainstream operating systems.

HUAWEI database solution is developed based on the high-performance solid-state storage Dorado, and collaborates with mainstream

databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, and My SQL. The migration of data from legacy databases to Dorado does not

require any changes in network elements or applications. Then the system performance is improved by 24 times.

This solution helps users deploy high-performance and high-reliability databases and operating systems in a fast manner, and

complete more applications in a specified time than before. Therefore, enterprises' return on investment (ROI) is maximized, and their

competitiveness is greatly enhanced.

System level: dual-controller full-redundancy architecture, free •

of single points of failure, hot-swap components, and online

component replacement and system upgrade.

Disk level: intelligent wear leveling, bad sector management, •

error checking and correcting (ECC), and 7.5-year ensured

service life.

Simple architecture and deployment to achieve service ease-

of-use and –maintenance

The solution deployment requires no system modification or •

application migration, and its impact is as slight as an offline

preventive maintenance.

The central deployment of data warehouse, OLTP and OLAP •

applications reduces the maintenance complexity.

The performance commissioning process is simplified and the •

storage system deployment can be completed within one click.
